I wonder if anybody who does studio scale modeling has ever attempted an ideal Phase II Enterprise or PII Big E based on Matt Jefferies' original plans?
I've seen CG versions of the PII-E which frankly don't agree with each other. Everybody's always adding something to make it their "own" or to confirm to their fanon universe. Part of the problem with the PII Enterprise is that the model was never finished for the PII project because of the reformat for the Motion Picture. Model makers usually add their own flourishes during build-up and painting and nothing ever really matches up 100% to plans.
Brick Price did eventually build up a PII Enterprise that was displayed in a Planet Hollywood but it definitely looked more like a TMP Enterprise with the PII nacelles grafted onto it. I don't think this was the unfinished model which has had something like a half-dozen photographs published in 3-4 Star Trek art and making of books.
