"Harrison Ford has been confirmed as a cast member in Cowboys and Aliens, a genre mash-up and comic book adaptation under the direction of Jon Favreau.

Speculation began on Monday when Favreau tweeted “Some very cool Cowboys & Aliens casting news coming up.”

Latino Review guessed (correctly) it was Ford due to a tip they had received that the 67-year-old actor was eying “a huge comic book movie to be directed by a director coming off a soon to be released huge comic book movie.”

The news hit the ‘net and Favreau finally commented Wednesday (via Twitter again), “Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don’t tell anybody.” Very funny.

No word on who Ford will be playing yet, as this obviously wasn’t the planned official announcement. Heat Vision says the tweet took DreamWorks execs and Ford’s talent agency by surprise. Favreau, who tweeted from the Iron Man 2 set (until the updates suddenly stopped), may have learned that little rogue act from Han Solo.

The Cowboys and Aliens cast already includes Daniel Craig as a Union army gunslinger and Olivia Wilde as Ella, a probable love interest."

Synopsis -

"In Silver City, Arizona, Apache Indians and Western settlers must lay their differences aside when an alien spaceship crash lands in their city."

Any thoughts on this??

Yeah, sounds cool...A bit of a Faaaaaaar out concept. If not done correctly this could be a big mess though.

Im glad to see Ford back in the Sci-fi genre...The original space cowboy.

Hmmmmm........his films from the last 15 years, in reverse order.

Crossing Over (2009)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
Firewall (2006)
Hollywood Homicide (2003)
K-19: The Widowmaker (2002)
What Lies Beneath (2000)
Random Hearts (1999)
Six Days Seven Nights (1998)
Air Force One (1997)
The Devil's Own (1997)
Sabrina (1995)

Two memorable films in 15 years.

Is it a good thing to have him in your movie now?

Air Force One is memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Regardless, Harry is a ****ing icon.
