MJF, that's the theory I've gone with, too, but there's an irritating lack of resources out there for finding 1970s-vintage motorcycle cop gear. :angry The ANH pants are lighter than Navy Blue. More like Air Force Blue. The pants Han is wearing in ESB are essentially the same as the ones Luke was wearing at the end of ANH. I've conjectured over the years that that indicated his growing closeness with the Rebels, that he was now wearing at least part of the uniform. But then, I've my own theories of the OT uniforms, based on a fresh viewing of the films to see what can be gleaned or inferred from them alone, and only bringing the EU into it to provide names for organizations or what have you...
Magnoli and Anovos are probably the best sources for accuracy and someone else doing the work. For doing the work oneself, the link MJF provided gives some good options. Look for one of the ones that is available in Air Force Blue (for ANH) or Sheriff's Brown (ESB) and choose the option for adding your own striping, then call or e-mail to specify hatched striping in the color of the pants and red/yellow (as appropriate).
