Han Solo Ep 7 costume

I could...just need to figure out how. Here's a test print of the existing design. I printed in 2 sized b/c I'm working on ~75% sized stuff for my son's halloween costume.

Full size & 75% sized jacket greeblies:

75% sized 3D Printed DL-44 & NN-14 (for my daughter's costume):

You can always just upload them to Shapeways. Or be REALLY nice to the rest of the prop community and upload them to Thingieverse. ;)

Actually what do you mean by more detail? Think I should add more depth to the grooves? I'm also considering adding a small indentation in the top middle.

Not depth necessarily, but when breaking down the grooves I noticed that the top edge of one groove might have a different curvature or bevel than the bottom one. Things like that.

Maybe something like this?

Hello. Don't get around these parts much lately - having children can do that to you - but I was sort of amazed that no one has posted a pic of their completed costumes here. Why is that? Well, some of you have seen mine on the dannylopuz jacket project run thread, but since that's not really what that thread is for, I'll post it again here.

The jacket is from dannylopuz's second run (so it has the handwarmer pocket). The shirt I made from scratch. The pants were an OTR pair that I added pintucks and the riding breeches seam to. The pants belt is a very nice CE from Amazon. I took the left side off my ANH gun belt and made a new TFA version, and the boots are those fairly lame but impossibly affordable costume boots with some aging applied to them. The jacket pocket greeblies are embarrassingly quickly made from wooden dowels and a dremel, and the gun belt greeblies are a CO2 cylinder with the proper stepped top, and some 3D printed "power cells" from an Etsy seller. Overall, I am very pleased with the appearance of my outfit. The boots are the weakest link, but also one of the most expensive, and I have hard to fit wide feet, so these cheap boots will do for now.

So, c'mon, folks, share your costumes! I can't be the only one here with a reasonably complete ensemble!

Cheers!

Very nice, Rick!

Did you follow a pattern for the shirt? And which OTR pants?

I'm still waiting for my jacket from Danny, although apparently it finally shipped. And I'm still making my belt. Once I get a final costume together, I'll see what I can do about photos...

kman, I started with a vintage 1970s commercial shirt pattern - Butterick, I think? - which had some properties I liked, but was WAY too small and had a completely wrong collar, and massively altered it. I'm especially proud of the front placket, which I think turned out spot on (hard to see in my blown out picture). I initially thought the collar might be too tall, but I think the fact is that the collar on dannylopuz's jacket is a little too short.

The pants took a lot of searching. That slightly heathered greenish brown is a tough color to find. I finally found a great match at a Target store of all places. I think they were Haggar brand pants. The pockets are subtle and not very noticeable - of course, Han really has none - and the color is very good. The material is a bit thin, but the color is so good, I'm happy with them, and making pants from scratch is a lot harder than making a shirt!

Wanted to share my Han setup.

Jacket is from Danny's run. I made the greeblies from eCig batteries.
Pants are off the shelf from Target - I sewed in the pin tuck seams.
The shirt was hand made by me in crunch time before a con - took me about 7 hours and I finished around 4 AM. Let's call it version 1.0 - it's passable but the collar need re-doing.
Gun belt is Todd's.
DL-44 is my build using a Dennix and parts from Todd's and Dark Energy.
Wig was an Amazon purchase as are the boots.

Not 100% screen accurate - But I'm quite pleased.

Cheers
