Han Solo DL-44 blaster: ESB Bespin, Hoth , ANH Hero & Greedo Killer

What with Christmas & then one thing & another I just haven't had any time to finish this but tonight I finally made a start :)

drilled the holes for the scope mount & test fitted it

used a nut in the mag well but the screws seem to hold pretty well even without tapping them

so basically just all the finishing now & I can finally put it together

the scope isn't the compac as I still need to finish that too

Not wanting to derail this thread but why do we call that blaster the Greedo Killer?

E4S_KEY_200-small.jpg

I mean i know that in the closeup is the one with the grease gun flash hider (AKA greedo killer)

but i believe the actual firing gun that killed greedo is the ANH hero one.

Anyways awesome work looks great.

Finally had a crack at putting this together :)

attached the scope mount & then realised I wouldn't be able put the pins into the Denix upper so had to slightly disassemble

had to epoxy the grill in place but everything else screwed together & the flash hider just press fit

not sure it's 100% finished but at least it's together at last :lol

In between the rains today I tried to take a few pictures outside in natural light,

I know it's not 100% accurate but it's close enough to keep me happy (for now)

the Greedo Killer was the 1st "metal" blaster I planned to build but it proved harder to find the parts than I'd imagined so here I am 2.5 years late :lol

I also tried it with the 2 other scopes I had, I quite like the weaver scope (which is longer & heavier than the other 2)

also so put it side by side with my Doopydoos GK for comparison

When I first stumbled into this hobby & saw the prices of the Master Replicas Han Solo Blasters on eBay I thought ok I'll never own one of them, so I started building the Doopydoos Resin Blasters (which I still think are great),

then I got hold of a Denix Mauser on eBay & ended up putting it away for 6 months while I procrastinated over which blaster to build (I didn't want to start one I couldn't get all the parts for & finish)

& now somehow I've ended up with these (thanks to lots of help from members here, especially Markus, Scottjua, Vanitas)

here are my DL-44's (& a Merr Sonn) not the most accurate, not the best I've seen but they make me happy :) (not the best pics)

Han ANH Hero
Han ANH Greedo Killer
Merr Sonn
luke ESB
Han ESB Bespin
Han ESB Hoth
Han ROTJ
ESB Stunt
Han ROTJ weird Bunker Blaster

for me they represent the main, significant DL-44/Mauser based blaster variants (I know there are more) but I kinda feel I've nearly completed my set

the ESB stunt & ROTJ bunker blasters are still Doopydoos Resin kits for now but the rest are now metal

I tend to go for a mix of idealised, accurate, what I can build & what I can afford :lol

I'd like to redo the Hoth blaster hopefully from Boba Debts upcoming run

oh & the last pic is just my Greedo & Greedo Killer together;)

whoa! That looks awesome! My DL-44 collection is seriously lacking this variety of awesomeness. I need a bizzaro, stunt, and mersonn now...

Getting ready for Boba Debt's ESB run :)

my plan was to just upgrade my Han Hoth with parts from the new run, but then I decided that I also wanted to upgrade my Han Bespin with a more accurate scope mount & flash hider

so I ended up ordering 2 sets of machined parts & 2 scopes (to upgrade my resin ones) & then I figured it's easier to start from scratch with 2 new Mausers

hopefully I can build a new Han Hoth a new Han Bespin (leaving off the Pistons this time) & also replace the resin scope mount knob on my Luke

also finally found some escutcheon screws for my grips (would like to get some more wood grips)

So after a bit of a wait my Boba Debt ESB parts arrived :)

my original plan was to build a new Hoth Blaster but I also ended up ordering a set of Bespin parts & a couple of Denix's

my plan now is to re-do my Han Hoth, Han Bespin & Luke

Problem is I've not built anything for about a year & after my hiatus I'm struggling to muster the enthusiasm to get started :lol

I may begin by taking my 3 current blasters apart

I'm tempted to use my current Han Bespin as the basis for my New Hoth version as I mistakenly added the pistons to the left side of my Han Bespin when actually I think it was empty like the Luke, depends if the drill holes match up ok
