Cool Pics!

Well, finally got my Han EE from Ajcollecting today, it was really easy to dismantle & now all I need to do is the weathering. I'll post some pics as I do it. I may get a chance to start it next tomorrow or next week at the latest.

You wouldn't happen to know if "aj" has anymore Han EE blasters would you? I checked his site and ebay and found nothing.

I'd pick up a damaged one if the price was right.......I'd want one only to weather thus defeating the purpose of wanting a mint peice.

I can't wait to see what you do with the weathering. I LOVE what you did with the Blast-tech version!

I notice from your picture that the flash hidder seems much darker than the one that I have or for that matter any pictures that I have seen. Is it the lighting or is yours really that dark?

It is pretty close to the LE, it does look a little darker in this picture than in real life. I would imagine that the colour is the same as your's, one of the things that put me off this blaster was seeing pics on the net, I always thought it looked a bit plastic but now I have 2 they look fine & are both identical.

This is very close to what mine looks like in person, would you say that yours look the same?

Its hard to say exactly, but that does look a little lighter than mine. Light conditions do make a real difference with the flash hidder on the EE. My blaster is still layed out where I took the picture, its night & the house lights are on & it looks a lot lighter than in the picture. If you can compare it to an LE that would be the best test. It looks just a shade lighter than the LE because of the lack of weathering. As the blaster is solid black & not weathered this also makes it look lighter?

Here is a pic showing both, and although it's not mine in the picture the EE color is close to what mine looks like.

Well this is what I ended up with today after about 3-4 hrs. Its only half finnished & I'll need to re do some bits but its looking ok to me, Any advice or suggestions would be great

Holy cow:eek Care to share any of your techniques?? That is by far the BEST looking EE I've seen! The flash suppressor looks especially good.

Thanks for the kind words, The hole thing is done by Dry brushing using various shades of silver, then brushing Burnt Umba pastel powder into the paint while it is still setting. For the highlited edges just apply more paint when drybrushing using a smaller brush. The heavy lighter area's around the center bar are just painted on thick with a very small pionted brush then I use a hair dryer to dry the paint as I go & scratch it off with an exacto knife to get the weatherd look. This is the most difficult part as the natural weathering on the blaster is done the opposite way. (Paint removed). The only part of the Eethat has been changed is around the ends of the scope where I have scraped the paint away to show the brass. All other weathering can be removed quite easily & re-done to taste????

Using the Pastels has made a big difference & as i wanted it to look like the Hero blaster but 30 years old ie: what it may look like today. I still have a long way to go but promise to add more pics as I go. I really want this to look like one of the best blasters I've seen, the hard thing is not doing to Much!!!!!!!!! A big problem as I love doing this to a Han Blaster.

Thanks for sharing your techiniques! You've really got the dry brushing down to a science. I've had decent results with it, but usually go the removal of paint until achieving the desired results. If/when I ever get an MR EE ANH, I'll most definitely be using your methods.

Incidentally I emailed AJ Collecting to see when/if they will be getting any MR EE's.

Keep the progress pics coming!

Steve:thumbsup
