Han Solo ANH - No Budget

IMO, the metal blaster is worth the weight. I used to have a Denix w/ blast-tech parts and the feel of a "real" weapon was worth it. I wore it on my hip for a 4 mile parade with no complaints.

blast-tech is a real site... I've ordered from them a bunch of times.

Quick Question - as I am still trying to put this costume together, it was too expensive before to finalize

What is the difference between ordering:

Blast-Tech - Products - Completed Display Pieces

and

Master Replicas ANH Star Wars Blaster - there is one on ebay right now - what am i getting for approx 100-200 more

Also where can I find the ANH droid caller kit that is already painted that is high quality - i was never able to find one previously online that was already completed that i thought was of a high standard

thanks so much

Is there another company making what Master Replica used to make

from what i read online they lost the license in 2007

Did anyone pick up the high end replica line or produces a weathered ANH blaster?

The best i can find online is the Master Replica from 2002

the EE from 2006 isnt weathered and as i want to use it as a costume piece, i dont want pristine, as it wouldnt fit with the costume

I will also display it as well but i have no problem wearing it - no fun to only look at it :love

I actually built a Blastech Dl-22 for about under 25 buck.. at an indoor Swap-meet i purchased a 1/1 scale Mauser replica for about $19.00 Its actually a single pump airsoft pellet gun, i have seen one for $100 at an army surplus store in Burbank, I'm just getting started in building props and what not, but I hope to get better at it.. my total cost was under $25 for parts and paint... tell me what you guys think i'm trying to build a holster ant plans on the buckles?

Just saw this thread and I must say that your statement about it being an undertaking is so right on. I have made/purchased an accurate ROTJ Han costume and am currently a member of the rebel legion. When i started out, I had no idea what i was getting into. I just wanted to make an accurate Han costume... But I am way to detail oriented, couldn't not do it right.
I have a thread in the RL on the parts I used, and I would recommend checking out the stuff over there. There is a TON of info! I wish I would have read it all before i started.
All that said, i have some info on DONT's
Don't get the crppy pleather holster from "starfortressproductions" (i think thats the name...) on ebay. It is a regualr belt with a "Y" harness. Overall crappy and I think the guy who produces might be a sex offender (no joke, not slamming him, did some serious reading on the guy).
Don't buy the "german officer boots". I think it was mentioned above. Crappy for a han, great for an X-Wing pilot.
If you have the sewing skills, Don't buy anything you can make yourself. The boots/holster/and Dl-44 are gonna cost you enough. If money is not an issue, go nuts.
Anyhoo, if you have anyquestions, hit me up! Good luck!
Here is the link to the my han costume on the RL. I think you can find it unless its in a members only area...

Wow! Lots of great ideas here and information.

I am not a huge prop or costume guy but I would like to have a nicer Halloween Costume this year. Currently I have been wearing a "mother-In-Law- made star trek shirt with black jeans and black ankle boots. (Lame I Know):unsure

I would love a Han Solo outfit, but do not have the time to make one from scratch, or the money to buy the many items listed here. Has anyone tried or posted about the ebay ones for around $125-160 made by "Costumbase"? I know the ship from Singapore which scares me a little, but for the price looks like a better than option than my Star Trek shirt :lol

Here is a current link - Han Solo ANH Full Costume Belt Droid Caller Star Wars | eBay

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Thanks

CostumeBase isn't bad for the price but that's exactly what you're getting is a costume. If that's what you want I say go for it. I have a pair of costumebase pants that I am in the process of modifying to be more accurate right now and the quality is not that bad. The holster is not very good though IMO.

That holster is only good enough to carry a plastic toy blaster. Don't try and put a metal one in there; it will break within an hour. Otherwise, it's definitely a good costume upgrade. And as dbalschi said, the outfit can be modified to be even better if you have the inclination (tailored for better fit, pintucks, riding seam and more accurate bloodstripes)

Also, like others have posted, check out the Fringe section on Rebel Legion, lots of great info there...
