This was one the moments of weakness where you think you have a good idea but as you start to act on it, you have second thoughts. I saw a Halo Master Chief Halloween mask at a local store. I picked it up for $40 and had the idea to glue it to a motorcycle helmet. Several hours later, I'd glued the two halves to the helmet, bondo-ed the bits in between and spent hours painting to make this helmet. It might have been easier to do an original sculpt but it is cool that it feels like a real helmet when you put it on. A couple of other interesting things; I supported the hallow interior of the Halloween mask with foam core pieces and filled with spray foam. Squishy, but okay. The gold visor which makes the helmet inconic was the hardest piece of the project. Instead of using a pre-fab gold motorcyle one, I tried to make my own. Which is why I ended up putting a bullet hole in it to cover up how poorly it turned out.
