HalloweenCostumes.com "Back to the Future 2 Light Up Shoes"

No released HC shoe was sewn neat and "flat" like that. They all have puckered holes.

Also, no matter the release the holes come in a wide range of shapes from circles to elongated ovals. There has never been consistency.

Yeah. That "studio" picture was of a nicely cut sample.
All the rest of the mass produced ones have that short top half with ovals and all sorts of shapes.

so everything worked fine last night. now one wants to blink when moved. i guess i need to resolder a conection point. i'm pretty sure it when the red attatches to the battery. grrrrrr

Yeah. But having ti taken apart doesn't. Going to shorten the wires and see if these push button switches will work. At least I don't have to do anything to the straps.

Be careful with how much you shorten. I think that was some of why I had wire breakages. I shortened mine as well to keep it all neat and then there was not enough to move with the stresses of wearing and they broke.

i'm just planning on trimming the wires that run to the battery and the switch. i went to radioshack and inquired about a new switch and they pulled out a push button very similar to whats on the back of the shoe but then when i started looking i realized it was for a circuit board, or what ever it's called, and i don't think it will work. not enough length to solder too. grrrrr

First shoe done... what do you guys think?

BTW, anyone know where I can buy a replacement microswitch for the strap lights for the Strap Upgrade Kit? Destroyed one of them trying to solder for the first time..

It's a loose connection. I can push on it and it will light back up. So htf do I fix this? I may as well open it up and replace the heel lights and wire too.

You should have done that from the start.

The real pain is when it happens after you have pulled the shoe apart and put it back together and you break wires - three times for me.

The straps were my first experience with any wires or soldering so I'm lucky it worked out. Guess I have no choice. So how do I get the cup to pull off? Heat? Is there a list of what I'll need wire wise and to replace the heel lights? I'll keep the battery and lights in the soles if I can.

Umm, mine just fell away on their own one day. This has happened to my display pair too. Yeah, use a bit of heat and the glue should let go. Just don't pull on it or you might tear something.

For the complete part list, you will need to go the V2 Mod thread and read pages 58 and 200 (not from 58 to 200) and you will all the parts and wiring diagrams.

maybe i shouldn't use my heat gun then. i don't want to mess up the material or swoosh. i hope the hair dryer will get hot enough.

Both my pairs live in my home cinema/prop room which should be fairly temperature stable due to the wall construction.

My display pair have got the velcro on the strap coming away as well as both Heel Cups.
