Halloween Costumes 2014 (First post, help appreciated)

So this is going to be my entry post to The RPF and it's going to be over my friends and my Halloween Costumes. One thing is we are both 14 so we are a little too old for trick or treating but we help hand out candy at the local firehouse. One great thing is we are about the same build so I can make his costume without him being here which works great with my schedule. So too the costumes, I am going to be The Joker since I believe he is the best batman villain. I am going to be the one from Young Justice to be exact as I feel it is the closest to resembling my hair and body style.
My friend is going to be Nightwing as I feel he would be a good counter to The Joker. With Nightwing I'm not going for a specific version just a very armored look as I'm quite good with armor. Some what like this.
Then with this mask type as I think it would look interesting.

Looks good, Wildcard! Both look like uncommon versions of the costumes, which is great. I look forward to seeing the progress.

Thanks, Vox! The Young Justice Version came while I was watching season one on Netflix and got to the episode featuring him and fell in love with the design. I also wanted for people to have a little variety so it's not all just TDK Jokers. Nightwing on the other hand I've always liked him my first real encounter with him was in the Lego Batman video game and liked him ever since. Now that I've gotten into costuming and cosplay I like armor and just wanted to do a armored Nightwing. Also, once again, thanks. Both my father and his are on the fire team and I would rather see a smile on a little kids face than toilet paper on someones trees.

Little update, finished the pectoral armor for Nightwing. Here is a progression of them

This is them once made from cardboard and hot glue.

I then attached a small piece of cardstock with hot glue to connect the two.

Then made the straps fir them to stay together.
I then marked the straps for connection. Connected them too each other then used Velcro Circles to connect in the middle.

Small update I'm thinking about redoing the chest peice and making them slimmer. Other than that I free handed a little concept mask design.

Also me and my friend decided on Blue/Black color design for Nightwing.
A little Joker update I decided not to have a knife and a sword instead.

This one is just a Nerf sword I painted purple and green.

I also made a sheath out of cardstock and I will paint it later.

Not quite sure if anyone is paying attention to the thread but ill post anyway. If you have been following this i guess sorry for not posting for a while. Since starting school my schedule hasn't given me a lot of free time with obviously school and football practice. But i have made some progress on the Nightwing costume as it is my main focus. I made the shoulder pieces. Along with that I also made the utility belt with two big pouches and two small. I made 16 throwing discs or "Wing Dings" out of hardened paper. Will post of all this tonight.

Well as much as I don't want to I'm canceling The Joker for now. I will pick it up later but my time and money needs to go to Nightwing. Since it's crunch time being a month left until Halloween I'm giving as much attention as possible to this project. So expect post to come quite regular now.

So it's been a while and I got quite a bit done all that's left is escrimas and holders and the mask I am going to be a jail mate like from arkham city
