Halloween Cosplay Projects 2013

Green Arrow from CW's Arrow show. No pics yet, but soon. Trying to figure out where to start and how. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Thanks.

Working on an Amazing Spider-man 2 suit, hope it'll be finished by the 31st!

Apollo Astronaut. Didnt have the time to devote to a quality costume, so I am having one made. I feel so dirty. I did make the flag though. Breaks down into two parts and the flag has a pivot hinge with a quick release so I can extend it and break it down in seconds. The finished suit should be here in two weeks. Then Ill mod it as necessary to achieve a level of accuracy that I am comfortable with.

I'll be taking it easy this year and just revisit my Ghostbuster costumes from 2009:

I'm planning to build sturdy RGB-inspired particle throwers out of hardware and PVC pipe, because wearing these things to street parties they are the first part to get trashed.

...Last year it was just too hard to pee dressed as Krang.

Nightwing arkham city. A few other DC characters may filter into my thread since I'm helping everyone with their stuff, but yeah that's who im being.

Star Wars theme for me and the family, what brought me to this forum in the first place. :)

Me: ESB Vader
Wife: ANH Leia
Son: ANH Luke
Baby: Yoda

Started with Rubies for mine, of which about 2/3rds has now been replaced, Wife is making hers with the exception of the belt, and sons are just doing Rubies for now, hope to do more detailed stuff with them later, but life got in the way.

I've got three planned right now. Genderbend Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket for work. No pics yet, but I do have a pic of the bracelet I made. Gaz Membrane from Invader Zim in her late 20s/early 30s. No pics yet. Tim Bisley from Spaced for class. I've got a wig since taking the pics that looks like it's been murdered with peroxide.

I'm with Adam Savage when I feel that Halloween is a time for the "normies" to get their costuming in; it's not something I even really shoot for anymore.

I was hoping to have a Spidey costume done, but my PhD has been a bit out of control, so I haven't had time to do anything to prep for halloween this year. So now I'm casting around for not-too-insane but awesome looking and recognizable costumes that a 5'11'', 160lbs fit guy would be able to pull off.

... might be falling back to a cardboard robot costume this year :(

I'm going to be Castiel because some friends of mine are going as Sam and Dean so we also talked my hubby into being Bobby. I'm not doing a fem version of Castiel though, I'm just going for his screen look. I'm currently building my angel blade off of a really, really, really crappy base that I bought from etsy (I've come to realize that I'd have actually saved time at this point if I'd just done it from scratch). And I don't want my friends to use my really nice Colt that I picked up from Oz, so I cleaned up one of those cheap, super crappy, coolmodels ones to a more respectable place and will be painting that up for them to use.

I've got my coat and have done most of the needed modifications so far. I just need to turn the straps on the wrists to button straps from their current state of buckle straps. And then I need to age the hubby's Bobby hat and vest.
