Half-Life: Alyx Civil Protection Officer (Metro Cop)

Looking great, love to see it!!

YESSSSSSZZZZ!!! birds of a feather build together!!!! Utri, your build is sollllid. When I saw your avatar I was stoked to see another fan following Dent's build but then I checked your build..... Woot. I can only bring the ra ra but it is cool to have another set of experienced eyes for this character. If I give any posts that you already know otherwise, definitely correct me. I am just an excited fellow fan riding this ride.

What I love about the RPF! All this interdisciplinary knowledge comes together to help make the best art we can make. Love it, Green. LOVE IT!!
Thank you all for the feedback and support. I hope my build comes close to Utri aesthetic -- eventually, I want to try get the helmet upgraded but for now this one will do.

I have done a quick test fit with what I have thus far:

Some youtube commenters have told me the helmet looks a tad big. Personally, I think the scaling is fine and any smaller, I'd have to modify the neck collar portion to be able to get it on

Scaling is always tricky. As long as you’re happy with how it looks, you’re golden.

I did print my GordanModels helmet at 100% scale in all dimensions, but I split the lower jaw and affixed with magnets. Fit is very tight

I have heard the magnet trick used across several builds I am watching. Sounds like quite a few game characters are wearing unrealistic gear which becomes a real treat when replicated in a live build.

I think it is looking great at each step and my personal opinion on the sizing is the character always looked like the helmet was large. it is a working unit with ventilation and communication inside, it is expected.

Been a while.

I'm currently revamping this build, moving more towards the Half Life Alyx version of the Civil Protection.

Here's the NEW helmet (from BDAirsoftWorkship on Etsy) -- I'm going to hang onto the original helm I have regardless.

A new jacket and vest are in the works with a seamstress I'm communicating with as well.

Hello,

It has been sometime since a really solid update on this build. As I mentioned in one of the posts above, I had been communicating with a seamstress in Ukraine in regards to the fabrication of the Civil protection flak vest and jacket. She does have an Etsy if anyone is interested, under the name of SivokonCosplayCustom if you're interested in getting Civil Protection officer parts made. The jacket had a specific look that commercially available jackets out there didn't satisfy for me.

After sometime, they arrived last week and managed to get some photos. I'm very happy with how the overall look came out to be. (Photos attached below.)

There are still some details I need to add to finish the assemble off, such as white striping on the pants, gloves and boots. In addition to silver grommets on the top belt band. The belts are just military dress belts I got off amazon, as well as the gloves which are motorcycle leather gloves, gauntlet style.

In regards to weapons, the "Baton" base is going to be a traffic wand, which lights up, which will help illuminate the top of the baton once I get figure out how to construct around the red body of it. The Civil Protection firearms are a MP7 and HK Match pistol -- still hunting for the pistol, but there are lots of options for the MP7. Likely going to get a spring powered airsoft option and gut it to make it con safe.
