That scene loses something in pan and scan (like the VHS), when the President tells Smirnoff to call Norad, etc. you can see him at the side of the screen looking through the phone book to get the phone numbers :lol (with missles ready to fly). It is trimmed on VHS but the letterbox (widescreen DVD) version lets you enjoy all fun chaos.
