Guardians of the Galaxy. Groot

I imagine this post should be under Marvel characters, popular franchises. I could not get Tapatalk to find that category for me.

About two weeks ago, I was approached by a local movie theater chain, Harkins theaters. They asked if I could put a team together to help promote the new movie. They asked for several of the characters.

The local talent here in Phoenix Arizona is incredible! I easily found Gomorrah, Star Lord, and even Rocket Raccoon! I have yet to find Drax. I started my build on Groot.

It is designed to fit a person about 6 foot to six-foot four. When it is finished from top to bottom the character will measure 7 1/2 feet tall.

I will continue to post pictures as the work progresses.

freaking awesome, I am glad people are starting to work on these because I have to dress up my whole family next year and people are doing such great things with the guardians of the galaxy costumes. The skill level is impressive.

I am a Boy Scout leader. So one of my scouts, his dad, and I have been working on it for the last couple of weeks.

That is an incredible looking Groot! I love the fine detail on all of the bark. What did you use to make it?

I'm really wanting to put a Groot cosplay together myself for Phoenix Comicon next year, so any build tips would be greatly appreciated.

could you possibly put up a little tutorial on detailing eva foam with a dremel? I'm not experienced with using dremels.

Awesome job! I agree, we have a great costuming community here in the AZ valley.
