Here are two pictures I have of the raw lids (one on top of a box in progress) as well as one of my reference pictures in an old Gremlins souvenir magazine.

Version 2.0 pretty happy with the proportions and size. Will most likely be making a third because this one is slightly out of square. Again: OCD. I will be able to use this as a test for finishes.

Doing some test finishing for the green panels. Just got the cut panels in. Test fit them. It’s starting to come together.

Progress. Testing out paint and stains. The real prop has more blue paint. I am going for an “as seen” paint that brings it down a bit to match what was shown on screen. Still need to add the base, handle, hinges, and latch.

Good choice with the finish, I know from photographs that the original prop had that blue paint but I never felt it looked like "right".

With the exception of minor internal items I’m going to call this one done. I will most likely build another based off of lessons learned (much to my wife’s chagrin). Any feedback is more than welcomed. This is my first go at a large woodworking project so I want to improve. Any knowledge of the prop vs the replica would help too. Thanks

Thank you and thanks for the help along the way. This has definitely been a learning curve for me but I'm glad I gained some minor woodworking skills.

Thank you. Just took a look at your YouTube videos. Pretty impressive. I’m jealous of that shop. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. Like I said, I will most likely do this again after my next project (Flotsam from batteries not included to pair with my Wheems)

There isn't much knowledge to steal , but more power to you. I am open to any evolution of this prop. I might have to steal some back. knightdriver2001 has been a big help to me based off of his past build so let's pass it on.
