Green Lantern Movie Ring

Does this look pretty close for the face of the ring?

I actually like the center of the ring on that poster a bit better then the real one. The real has a sort of step down to simulate a Fresnel lens.

Fun fact: the artist who actually designed the rings built his models in solidworks too.

You know too much! Seriously, good eye on the SWorks there. You know anything else about the ring, like dimensions or anything? I realize you probably can't share too much with us, but I am really curious as the ratios, because given my drawing there, which I think is fairly close, the ring would be really, really thick, like somewhere in the region of 20+ mm (from back to front).

I can not wait for this to come out. Green Lantern has been my favourite hero since I first started reading comics.

Bump.
I'm still itching to see what this thing really looks like - any new theories? I'm pretty confident a licensed replica will be produced....but the wait for that is just as tormenting as the wait for the movie!

Yeah, I can't wait to see it up close and personal myself. I have heard NOTHING about who might be producing the licensed replicas. I will be seeing the DC licensing guy at the Baltimore Comic Con next weekend, and if I hear so much as a whisper of a rumor, I will share it here!

The ring bodies are machined brass.

Brass? All the photos we've seen it looks silver but I suppose that could be the way it looks on-screen.
I guess my biggest concern is that a licensed replica will not be as detailed as the original and/or only be sold in one-size and for 'display only'.
BTW, how do you know the ring body is machined brass??

Because Nexnox and I are the guys loading the brass into the CNC machine each time we make a set, lol.

It DOES look silver, doesn't it? There's a few ways to make brass silver... ;)

Nexnox even posted a pic on page 2:

No store bought ring I assure you that. It was designed and modeled in 3D. Thought I would tease you all a little bit here, been waiting for this thread to appear to do this.

Can you guess what this is?

I would imagine licensed replicas would be in a single size. Probably the size Ryan Reynolds wears.
