Green Lantern Movie Ring

I'm baffled as to why NC did a relatively good job in replicating the ring in their two other cheaper versons but got so off track on their high-end model.

The band is very close to an earlier version not used in the film, and the center is HUGE and way off... We covered that in another thread...

Methinks this is yet another case of a jeweler messing up the design of a GL ring to make it conform to jewelry standards of how a ring should look. :thumbsdown

Yeah, it's way off base as far as accuracy is concerned, but all in all, I actually like it. The lower profile works better for an everyday wear ring, and the design is close enough that nobody will mistake it for anything other than a GL ring.

I always blame DC since they just dont care about how it looks and is made

I think sometimes the experts are kept outa the loop or given no say, the bean counters which you think would be geek enough to care just want the cash!

all hollywood ever cares about is the cash..not the story not the fans not the people that work all there life for them..just the cash

What do you guys think of the 35 dollar one that noble collection released?? I think it looks rather nice, and Its also made of die cast metal. Just like the toys r us one ;)

Its actually just the same ring as the light-up Noble. Just cast with a full metal band without a split from what appears to be from the same master (because of the seam) as the plastic, with no electronics and s different lighter green jewel. Oh, and the same cheap metal ring around the center jewel. By cheap metal ring, I mean its split like a rounded paperclip. And unfortunately, on all my Noble rings (2 light up and the metal banded $35), the metal ring is never centered and always misshapen.

BUT, luckily Michaels sells metal rings in different sizes and in big packs for cheap lol

I haven't seen these rings at Michaels, can you post a pic, are they in the jewelery making section?

Metal O-rings, not GL rings. Little metal circles in different sizes. I bought a pack to replace the warped metal ring on the GL rings. Micheals doesnt sell Noble Collection stuff, silly. Only Noble does.

I believe that jmaxwell522 was asking about the metal o-rings, since he asked if they were parts found in the jewelry making section... At least, that's how I interpreted his question.

Hey did anyone receive the 35 dollar prop ring from noble? I really want to buy it, but I have to see a review first...

so did i. the band is far too thick to wear but it looks great as a display ring and comes with a great display case

Here's some crappy cell phone pics of my NC ring.

Arise, old thread! Arise!

Now that you've had the Noble Collection Silver GL Ring for some time, how do you like it long term? With Batjeepster/Customized Hero in the process of going out of business, and with most of the other RPF GL ring gurus doing no runs lately, I'm giving serious thought to ordering NC's rings to satisfy my itch for new GL rings.
