Green Lantern movie Power Battery...

Another thing, if you've truly read and followed the comics, how many times has the comics changed the story, contradicted itself, changed character design, accessory design.? Even the comics you're saying are not being followed have changed sooooo many times, yet its WRONG for the movies to change it a little? Come on, really?

I've held it. I initially didn't like it form pics, but once I saw it in person, my opinion changed a lot. It looks carved from stone, sort of dirty and aged. When it lights up, it's gorgeous.

Same with the ring. Now that i've held it, I really like it.

Well, Mattel's got a toy "role play" Movie Power Battery hitting stores now... VERY disappointed with them... pics have turned up over on the Green Lantern Corps Message Boards... see what you guys think of this thing...

It's a gorram TRANSFORMER!!! :confused

And I just went back and looked at the picture I had posted previously... you CAN see the trigger in that picture. I have NO idea how I missed seeing it before. :unsure

I am SOOOO glad I pre-ordered the DC Direct Movie Power Battery Prop Replica! :thumbsup

Here's 2 more pics of it... high-res, fully detailed publicity images from Mattel, I'm guessing... due to the large size of the images, click on the thumbnails for the full image...

I'm sure kids will love it, and that's really who it will be best for. Want an inexpensive movie power battery prop for your kids to play with? This is it. But for adult prop collectors, it's a bit of a let-down. :unsure

I mean, it is a toy.

Someone on the GL Corps Message Board stumbled upon a couple images over at THIS WEBSITE...

I give you Noble Collection's Green Lantern Movie Power Battery and Power Ring Prop Replicas:

The ring is definitely not nearly as movie accurate as DC Direct's. But if I can get it in a size I can WEAR (say, a 10 or 10½) I'll end up buying one anyway.

Guys, I'm afraid I have some very bad news to report...

thanks to a behind the scenes video that's on the internet now, I've just discovered that no matter how good they are, the DC Direct and Noble Collection Movie Power Battery Prop Replicas are not now, nor will they ever be, 100% screen accurate!

The reason is quite simple...

the real movie prop has a big POWER CORD coming out of one side to plug it into an external power source! :lol

Upon noticing that in the video, I went back and looked at this picture of GL artist Ivan Reis on the movie set, holding the real Power Battery Prop, and noticed that the cord is clearly visible:

Let the discussion on that point begin! ;)

Yeah, but I bet that cord was removable.
I have the DCD replicas on pre-order and REALLY looking forward to getting them. I wish there were more photos of the product out there to tease me more while I wait.

I bought the ring from TRU and also ordered the DC Direct ring from a site for $36. I figure I'd have a wearable, "take to the movie" version and display version. I'm not a big GL fan, but the price for the DC ring was too good to pass up.

I'm really looking forward to my movie lantern and ring! I preordered then from a site called TalesofWonder.com for real cheap, the lantern was 215 and the ring was 25. I figured why not grab both for less than the price of JUST the lantern on BBTS. Although they're a little slowin customer responses and shipping.

I'm kind of curious to see more pictures of the noble collection lantern. I mean fully expecting it to lack electronic functionality as previously stated by another member, it may still be cool, though inaccurate like most of their things.
