Green Arrow new 52

So decided to do the craft foaming on my own. Basically started off by making a template of a picture of an archery guard from ebay and stenciled it onto the craft foam. From there I did the typical heat with an oven to flop and made 3 shield designs and layered them over the base and each other.

here you can see how one of them is slightly glossier than the other being due to modge podging it for a 2nd layer now. The other I recently made and attached so will be needing some coats (I think 3 should do?).

All in all everythings coming together

Another mini-update. Did some craft foam work on the legs. Made a template out of the decepticon logo after putting it through photoshop and glued it together. Will be priming in modge podge and painting it eventually. (I wanna spray paint but the weather sorta sucks)

So leg guards more or less done. I opted to go for the rough and battle damaged look which I think turned out more or less ok. Process consisted of Krylon Mettalic Silver spray paint after about 3 coats of Modge Podge (and 5 for legs). After that transition into Emerald Green over it in thicker layers so only partial bits of the silver appear. Then I opted for black acrylic paints to make the weathering and a little dirty. Then for Illusion I went over the lines with a blakc permenant marker to help make it look a little bit more raised.

So started making foam armour pieces for the vest. Unfortunately, when I tried to hot glue it in it didn't work and some pieces got a little warped or ripped.

Next step, remaking pieces and trying again with velcro and eventually fill in the gaps.

So now that exams are done I can finally get back to this! So, unfortunately my first foam armour design didn't turn out well so I'll be getting help for that from a friend.

What I have done is finally make a belt together using a hot glue bypassing the need to sew (i just hope it'll hold up in summer weather easily). That's about it for now as I gotta now buy the canisters to put in the 4 pockets (should be six but ran out of nylon for it) so off to the dollar store!

So I eventually did make this costume (sorry I forgot my log in info so never came back). Bad news was that I sorta couldn't get the foam armour to my liking so I opted in for sewing. So without further delay:

Nice work. What'd you use for the punching arrow?

Found a pair of mini Boxing gloves, found some clearance emerald green fabric paint to paint the glove, and the hot glued the tip to my bow so it could fit snug (painted over the crystallized glue too so it would somewhat blend in)

Are those boxing gloves just your standard rearview mirror mini boxing gloves? I'm trying to make a collection of trick arrows myself and finding a glove the right size has been a real pain.
