Hi Guys,
I am only new to the site and thought I would post up some of the photos of the Green Army Man Costume that I did for my work Christmas party. Took a bit of time for us to paint but it was well worth it in the end. Sorry for all the photos, but I hope you can enjoy.
Hi Guys,
I am only new to the site and thought I would post up some of the photos of the Green Army Man Costume that I did for my work Christmas party. Took a bit of time for us to paint but it was well worth it in the end. Sorry for all the photos, but I hope you can enjoy.
Thanks guys, it was all hand painted by brush, I used acrylic paint for both the primer "Grip Lock" and the green. I can't recall the name of the green (leap frog or bell pepper from memory). All I did was get Snazaroo's bright green face paint and took it to the local hardware store where I managed to get the exact colour. From there, the hardware guys made up the green colour into exterior gloss acrylic. Once it was painted I finished it off by spraying it with acrylic clear to give it that shiny plastic look. The acrylic also had a bit of flex and did not crack at all. I went through so much primer because the fabric just soaks it up, and to keep the colour consistent I couldn't avoid using it on everything.
It was stiff and initially hard to get on, but afterwards I was good as gold. Everyone loved it and rated it highly. I even took home best costume on the night! Feel free to ask any more questions.
sorry to sound stupid but you had the painted mixed up? So is this paint made for walls? I didn't know you can get acrylic wall paints
I don't suppose you know if the non gloss version of this paint will still be bendable and not crack? I thought I heard somewhere that 'gloss' is the reason why it won't crack. I need a non crackable matte paint.
when you said acrylic I thought you ment the acrylic paints for painting on canvas (art paint)
Yeah mate it is acrylic exterior paint, the hardware store type into the their computer a colour code from the sample card, this tells them how much and what paint they need to mix into the the base whether it be white or neutral before mixing it and making it the colour you want.
