Gray Fox MGS1 Build

Hey guys. I apologize for the lack of updates over the last few weeks. I got really busy at work, and had Halloween stuff to deal with.
My wife decided she wanted to go to the family Halloween party as Harley Quinn, and my Captain America suit wasn’t gonna cut it, so I ordered a “Ready to Ship” Dark Knight costume that needed some help before I could wear it. The body suit had to have around 2 inches added to lengthen the torso and I had to get all the faux leather pieces back into shape, as well as the mask, but we were a hit at the party. It was HOT though.

After Halloween was over I did make quite a bit of progress on ole Gray Fox.

I continued working on the back section, starting with the shoulder blades.

I then moved on to making templates for the pieces that go below/behind the shoulder blades.

Moving on along, more duct tape templates.

And lastly, finished the smaller side plates and end of the spine.

I’ve still got to add Velcro to the lower back pieces and the end of the spine, but the torso is essentially complete. I’ll probably move on the lower half next. I’m still debating on the arms. I’m not exactly happy with them. It feels good to have the torso pretty much done though. I’ll update again soon. Thanks guys!

I had a feeling if I checked here, there was more work done. Been putting the Rex model together, little by little. Just been so tired, finding the energy to even put together a little model is draining...hate this sleep apnea junk.

I also see you got the BTTF Delorean on the tracks. Is that one of the 1:18th Sun Star models?
I have all these, but am missing the first movie and 3rd on the tracks versions.
But have these other smaller ones, plus a Lamborghini I converted when way back in 6h grade using radio parts.....and didn't realize it was a Lamborghini, I just saw that the doors went up. Lol.
And I have Super Shredder guarding them all.

And is that a solid aluminum foil ball?
Can't tell if its just wrapping something else up.
Since I was a kid, I had started a solid aluminum foil ball, and still have it in my room now.

I am very sorry for the late reply. A little break from updating turned into months unfortunately. Life got in the way. The Delorean is actually an 1:8 scale build from Eaglemoss. It’s mostly die-cast and weighs roughly 25 pounds. Through extra issues I got all the parts to make all the versions.

It took entirely too long to build with shipping delays during the pandemic, but honestly it’s one of my most prized possessions. The one above it is a 1:8 scale Ecto-1 that’s been shelved for over a year due to Eaglemoss going belly up. It’s going to be enormous when it’s done. Roughly 3 ft long I think.

The Delorean and Ecto-1 line was picked up by another company, and will be resuming shipments soon. Fanhome is gonna offer them.

The foil ball is actually a styrofoam ball just covered in foil. I use it for heat shaping foam lol. I wasn’t sure if my heat gun would melt it and end up all over my pieces. I actually have a small suit update that I’m posting as soon as I finish this reply. I apologize again for just now doing so.

Hey guys. I’m back. I sincerely apologize for being away for this long. Time really went by faster than I realize. What initially started out as a break during the end of the year holidays, turned into months. I however started back work on the suit, and have a small update. I need to restock supplies, thus making this a small update. I’ve contemplating remaking a few things, mainly the biceps. I don’t like the way they are attached, and the overall look in general. While pondering, I started work on the legs, and bum.

Unfortunately, I ran out of the thinner foam to continue the legs. I’ll pick more up this weekend. I’m gonna try to focus a couple evenings a week to working on this. I apologize again for the long break. Have a great one guys!

No issues at all, life can most certainly get in the way.
I hadn't realized Eaglemoss had gone out of business. Never have started any subscriptions from them, but I've seen plenty of the the work. Like these Deloreans looks really awesome.
And the Ninja suit, glad you can get back at it.
The MGS Rex I was working on is on hold as well. The garbage disposal was leaking, creating a ton of mold. So a company had to come and rip out everything. So all the stuff from the cabinet are in front of my table to build the thing. So I decide to take apart an old Millennium Falcon thinking I'll just repaint it...but there I am in the middle of the living room working on it...lol....and not going as fast as I planned.
AS for the kitchen, waiting for the insurance to say how much money can be spent on all new floors, counter tops and whatever else. Its been like 3 weeks so far.

Yeah, them going under was a shocker. They didn’t send out anything to anyone who was subscribed. Just left everyone in the dark. Unexpected home repairs are a nightmare. I had a leak in our spare bathroom do pretty much the same thing. I just repaired it myself in a few days. I hope it gets better for you man.

Its just a day by day thing.
Its weird how things happen.
My job I had for over 4 years and really liked just randomly started laying off people. The owner, who is selling through an ESOP to make it employee owned came in and is changing everything, as hes got around a year left.
I was let go a month ago today actually.
I didn't think I would be one to have that happen, as I was in charge of all the social media stuff. I still gave access to their Facebook page ironically.
I was already planning to have surgery for a deviated septum, which is way up in the nose. So I wouldnt have been able to work anyways. Still slowly healing from it.
And the kitchen thing happend about a week before the surgery.
But, looking back at it all, the company must be having issues, because they just let 2 more people go the other day, so probably a blessing in the long run. Now getting a bew kitchen, and will hopefully be able to breathe better once this heals.
And, aome of my coworkers who were laid off before me went to the competition and said they'd probably hire men right away.
Life can surely be a funny and odd thing a lot of times.
