graflex disassembly?

Not that I know of...but it all hinges on removing the pin from the ears. If it's straight you can get something like a thin needle nose pliers to press on the bottom and start it moving upward.then you work it up gently with a screwdriver...once thats out the rest just unscrews.

Remove the brass pins from the "guts". (what are we calling that nowdays?)with a needle nose pliers again. then unscrew the screw in the front and the guts just slide out...(that sounded terrible) :lol

Does that help???

Feel free to PM or post with questions.

Any tutorials?

what graflex are you refering to Ti?

the MR or a real one?

ive done several real graflex tear downs to make them into EL and LED sabers with sound. look back in the pics section on TCSS you'll see the graflex EL and LED sabers i did.

just tell me what you need to know i can walk ya thru it.

Remove ears and side pins. Go inside bottom and remove two silver screws from under gust. Stick a dowel under and gently pound it out. I think that's all. It's a royal pain in @$$!

Thanks for the help guys! Its a replica, havnt got it yet, Il be sure to ask lots of questions once it gets here.

Don't worry...it's not as hard as you might think..as I said the only tricky part is getting that pin out...now, if it's a Parks replica, you just unscrew it...The Pin IS a screw...he designed them that way for ease in conversion.
The rest is self explanitory really...just unscrew this and that...

Yeah I did it! My only problem was undoing the screws on the inside, it made everything fall apart. I have a question, what should I do about thesliding partto the lower right of the red button. I just used a small screw driver to get it off and now the piece is wrecked. Any help?

if you mean the sliding switch, you were supposed to dremel off the end of that pin from the inside and everything would of come right off.

if you didnt, well beat it flat with a hammer is all i can sday.

Before you do anything else..please tell me why you're disassembling it so completely...

Are you making a Jedi Vader saber? if so, the piece doesn't matter...it's not on that one anyway...The guts (innards) should have slid out the top after unscrewing the center screw and removeing the red button and glass eye.

Those screws on the guts were NOT needed to disassemble it...once out, you remove those screws if you want to disassemble the guts.
The sliding switch is THE switch for the flashgun (on /off).

Can you post pics of what you have? the parts etc?

If you just need the part itself,m I think I have an extra..not the insides of the switch, but good enough to glue on...
I'll check.

Oh, I thought it was pretty hard to get the brass pins out without mangling them!

A tight needle nose pliers and a firm grip on the base nut.
(That sounded terrible :lol )
Remember...lefty loosie , righty tighty.

I mean, you do have to go slow, take your time...but they just unscrew. Don't just grab the pin...but if you do rough them up, you can file em back smooth..or smooth enough.
