Gotham By Gaslight - Grapple Gun

Hello all. Been putting together a Gotham By Gaslight Batman costume for the Edwardian Ball here in San Francisco. One of the things I wanted for this is a grapple gun. Not having a reference from the book, I decided to take this Nerf gun as the starting point.



I didn't take a lot of work in progress photos so it's going to jump ahead.



I have it a base coat of brown acrylic paint. Then did some dry brushing with tan and black acrylic. Added some gold and brass accents and a clear coat.



Next will be adding the dart and spool of gold tone cord. The ball is this Friday so I need to get on it!

Thanks a lot! I'm pretty happy with how the dry brush wood grain effect turned out. When I have it all finished I'll post some pics of the finished piece in-costume as well.
