Not sure if this is in the right forum or not. Feel free to move it.

Got this in my local feed of job postings off of Craigslist.

Figured if anyone could help these guys out, someone here could. Contact info is in the post.

OOPS----There is a typo in the address - -(http://www.thewhiskeyrebellion.net)

I'm not connected with this group in any way, shape or form. Just saw the Goonies thing and figured, "What the heck."

gotcha. That is weird. The identicle post is still up for the Richmond, Va, half of the shoot.

Anyone know anything about this? Is it for real? I've been contacted directly through my Yourprops.com collection about loaning some of my pieces to them for the video...my pieces have spend two years in two different museum exhibits, so I'd HATE to think I might lose them to an elaborate scam of some kind, even if they do only have sentimental value to me.

Heres how I'd work it out. If it feels "ehh.. " then you should just keep your props safe with you :)

Ramsey - Are you by any chance located in New Zealand? I have been in touch with one of the producers personally and he has told me that someone there said they might could loan him his personal replica. Just curious.
The guy I am talking to is a Wilmington resident, and he works for/ with H2O Entertainment. http://www.h2oentertainment.net/index.html
After I told them that I posted their request to this board, I was contacted by Michael Kuhn from H2O. Turns out I did know them from a horror movie I worked on 2 years ago. Ill vouch for their authenticity, for what its worth.
That being said, If you are worried that your replica might get damaged, do not loan it to them. i have read the script treatment, and the scene calls for the map to be hung in a picture frame on the wall. Said frame with glass is eventually broken to remove the map. That may or may not change, but that is how it is currently written. They are attempting to replicate most of the memorable scenes from the movie and integrate them in some way with the bands performance of their new song, "The Ballad of Chester Copperpot."
I am currently working on duplicating my map as inexpensively as possible so I don't have to worry about it.

Well, the email I got was from Michael Kuhn, though the email says from Tony Morin. I'm not so much concerned about a little bit of damage, actually...so long as it's not ruined. It's not like they have any monetary value at all in the first place. Besides, I made two maps...the first one went to a museum in Virginia for a year, and the 2nd went to a museum in New York for a year. The copper bone replica went to both. I really wouldnt' feel TOO destroyed if anything happened to them, but I'd really, really, really prefer that nothing does, you know. *lol*
Anyway, I have no problem sending them out if it's legit, and if I'm reasonably convinced that they'll be taken care of and returned. The museums even insured them for $500 (which I thought was crazy, since they both probably cost me less than $5.00 to make..*lol*) I"m not expecting them to insure the pieces or anything, really....just being cautious is all. I think overall, it's worth the risk to add something like this to my portfolio, being a graphic artist looking for a career.
I appreciate the input, though...just waiting for him to get back in touch with me about the details.
By the way, I did check out their Myspace page...and the mention the video shoot for what they call "The Copperpot Project". *lol*
