Goonies Blu-Ray Attn: RelicMaker

A buddy of mine lent me the recently released Goonies Blu-Ray and while looking through all the goodies, I noticed what appears to be RelicMaker's stellar goonies map as part of the box packaging.

Perhaps this has been covered elsewhere, but I thought I'd bring it up and ask...Brenton, did they use your map on the box artwork? I looked at it for awhile and compared the box to your map and it looks pretty spot on to your work.

If so, kudos to you!

Brad

yeah looks like brenton's map :confused

did he get paid for that?

I just spoke to Brenton and he knows about it. He thinks it better left alone and taken as a compliment. Cheers B!!! You're the man!

Thats a great way to look at it, not much can be done.

Just think of all the people who open that and admire how cool it looks.

I love my map. :)

Yeah, I've known about this since the Goonies Anniversary Event.

I went to see the Goonie movie premier with the actors at the event, and before they showed the movie, a Warner Bros. executive got onstage and unveiled a big blowup posterboard of the picture you see above with my map blazened across it!:eek Of course, I noticed it right away and was stunned!
I wasn't sure what to think! Do they know about me and all the Goonie stuff I have sold or what? :confused
I'm thinking what happened was this - I donated the Map, Copper Bones, and the Doubloon to the museum back in December or January, and Warner Bros. may have found out the museum got a hold of some Goonie props they could then use for the dvd cover. Although, Indy Magnoli's Copper Bones is on the dvd cover, and is not part of the museum display. So, who knows! Maybe they bought a map a while back from me off of eBay, along with Indy's Copper Bones...:confused
So, yeah, I'm not even touching this, and taking it as a compliment that they used it, rather than try to seek money from it.
Plus, I've made enough money from selling Goonie stuff without them seeing a dime of it, I'm looking at this as if we're 'even'!:cool:thumbsup

Definitely a good way to look at it and a hell of a compliment! Maybe they thought, "Well, they steal stuff from us to make replica props, so we'll steal from them to make our box artwork." ;-)

Dude, I am happy to have done business with you for this stuff. That's a really good attitude, and I applaud you! Fine work, and a fine character! :thumbsup :cool

They probably just used the Mezco casting of my Copper Bones for that photo. Well... the circle is now complete: Brenton and I were once replicators, now we are the masters. :lol

Kind regards,
Indy
