Good Vader cape fabric?

Can someone recomend a source for good Vader cape fabric at a good price?

Something accurate.

What's a good weight per square yard to get the correct flow and pleating on the robe?

I use 10 - 12 oz. per yard wool...depending on the knap of the fabric.

I find 8 oz. too light IMO.....anything beyond 12 oz. is too stiff....

I got my fabric at www.denverfabrics.com.

Black Wool Gaberdine. I do not know what would be 'accurate' in terms of the outfit, but I would avoid the tropical weight wools (They may be far too light).

This is how my cape hangs on my outfit:

The cape hadn't been ironed in these pics (Its a LOT of cape to iron.) But it looks pretty good, and flows fairly well.

Kinda... but that particular fabric is a little light - probably tropical weight.

Hey Shalamar, great Vader you´ve got there.

I´m still having my old GT cape and vest set and the fabric NEVER needed ironing, since it´s so heavy it flattens itself.

Shalamar does have a nice Vader Markus, I had the pleasure of seeing his suit in person.

Marcus (Kurty), I just went out and bought 10 meters of Italian Suit wool for a cape. It's pretty heavy. Ill post pics when the cape is made and you can judge for yourself if you like it or not.

You know, after looking at some samples I got for Star Trek Wrath of Kahn uniforms I'm making, I wonder if what you're looking for is military Elastique or Whipcord. The look of it is similar to the closeups I've seen, and comes in weights up to 17 oz.

Thoughts?
