can you see it now, much worse than a droop. Man am i having trouble putting picks on here now.

Wow, ah no big deal buddy, follow my guide and itll be super fine, the 19mm ABS fits tight over that alloy nub, so cut it as i have, with a slot on the underside, it works great, better it happened now though eh? TBH, im quite glad it did happen, as its pretty unsalvageable once all bonded up!

lee

Right, I see. Gonna have to do this. Much as it scares the bejeezus outa me cutting that resin bit off (irrational fear of: what if the ABS don't fit...). Looks like a cool fix too for the other droop you mentioned, should it arise - with a different gauge ABS of course.

I see this stuff can withstand 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Should be OK then, but we're putting a load on it, which I guess it's not designed for..? Ok, I'm worrying too much. Just grab me by the collar and slap my face a few times and tell me there's nothing to be afraid of.

SLAAAAAP.......It'll be fine daaaaammmnnn youuuuuuu :lol. Seriously bud, it will be cool, yes, the ABS takes a lot to warp, it'll never get that warm Steve, and the weight isn't all that much TBH, the super snug fit is the winner, hence this tube is now integral on my model, bonded, and screwed up inside, making the cockpit removable, but a nice tight fit for peace of mind! Cutting the resin part off is super easy, i just made a few very light passes with the saw, just till i felt it rub the alloy, the resin was so soft, it just came away perfectly.

lee

You know it makes sense Steve lol, hey, have you got the tubing? Let me know, ill send you a length over if you need a bit mate!

bests.......lee

Top man! Actually, just emailed you about my inability to locate sensible ABS online. 40 quid for 6m type nonsense was all I was turning up....

So yeah, please send me a bit!

Steve, mail me your address mateypoos, I'm away as of Monday, but ill take it with me and mail it while I'm out and about. The stuff i have comes by the metre and was from EMA, but no worries, ill send you some :)

lee

Sorry Steve, did get your mail buddy, just had a busy one on, part is nestled on the bench and ill have it out to you in the next couple of days :) May take it away with me as if i pass a P.O ill drop it in!

lee

Ive cropped the hell out if this, hope it doesn't get me in any hot water but this part is proving a pig to nail down.
Could do with some Karma coming my way after bagging a few finds on Mikes Speeder lol.......I've looked over the Visible V8 push rods, nothing.....only thoughts were some of the Tamiya motorcycles, could be a a rear drum brake pull rod??? Not a lot of ref on those kits about though.

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. The part is the pushrod from the Williams Brothers Le Rhone WWI model engine.

Found and fitted a while ago, cheers Brian:cool. Did you get my PM back at you on the TIE parts mate, i do have that kit on the shelf!

Lee

Lee, I've done the neck fix. Not only is the ABS a nice snug fit on the armature it's also just a much better fit inside the head than the resin was. Snug as bug in a rug, likes. Like you, I probably won't even ever glue it on, to ease with any storage/shipping probs in future. THANK YOU!

Lee, I'm thinking of adding that greeblie that's a row of 4 little cylinders(?) bracketed together to my jammer. I've always liked it and I don't care that it's not jammer-kosher. Can you tell us what that is, or is it top secret? If it is secret, no probs... Cheers!

Hmm 4 little cylinders, you mean the 8 rad part Steve? Shoot me a pic mate, there are no secrets, hope i can help!

Lee

Oh, I'm sure you can. In the top left section of your photo here, stuck to the incline. Also, what's the big round thing that replaces the LEM head?
