That's actually pretty close to what happens in a Japanese film,Godzilla shows up and people lose their minds.
Well and the effects go everywhere too,you can only do so much with fireworks.....
But I love the nod to the originals

Don't think so,the word "slaughter" comes to mind....if I were on the Golden Gate right then I'd be getting off most ricky-tick on FOOT if need be,my legs would make me seem to teleport :lol
BTW go look at some of the first trailers,there was that train with all those dead bodies.

Yeah, Godzilla saves a bunch of people. He scoops up a boat at one point and sets in that...no wait that was Pacific Rim. I think he eats one here.

Back in...I want to say the 90's films,I think if I remember right he eats whales and I suspect the giant squid too basically anything big enough to matter to him...this version I'd say a blue whale would be like,oh say,a sardine? a few dozen and he'd be happy.
No wonder they're going extinct :behave
An occasional nuclear submarine can keep him going for a long time.

Yeah when you have the NAVY popping missiles in your general direction, a GIANT monster coming out right next to you...
I would think most people would be gone so quickly...
I remember a local shooting in Montreal a few years ago at a University. I was in the general area and it took a whole 30 seconds before the place was EMPTY. So imagine the NAVY + Godzilla...

You know what I think is funny: the Japanese complain that the Godzilla in this film is "fat", yet the previous time we streamlined him, they complained he was too thin. It's like they're so freakin' hung up in the guys in the suit that they'll complain about any CG version of Godzilla.
Eeeen....my thought has always been to just take the suit and turn it into CGI with maybe a few tweeks to make it really good,they did that and bulked him up to,excuse this pun,monstrous proportions.
What gets me is how fast he moves,go look at the clip when Wantanabi says let them fight,when Godzilla pops up between those buildings I was amazed at how fast he moved :eek
