Godzilla (2014)

His roar is still that of the KING Of MONSTERS.
Unmistakebly recognizable. Bringing the horror of such a creature unleashed on humanity is clearly still a goal of the film.
Still nothing on atomic breath, but I expect they could keep that out of trailers as a surprise.

I got a shiver down my back when I heard the roar.

Looks great, let's just keep Mathew Broderick far away from it

He shouldn't even be allowed in a theater to see this one.

I hope some of those suits does not mean this is going to be another "biological experiment gone wrong" movie.

Anyone a fan of the jagged spines on the back or the more rounded spikes of the older suits?

It is a slick trailer, but did they need to touch Godzilla again? They butchered the Japanese version to steer away from the anti-atomic theme, and then they gave us Mathew Broderick in the 90's crap version - this has got to be awesome to make up for those stinkers.

The director seems extremely sensitive to what a Godzilla movie should be. He told a funny story about how he got lectured while going into Canada by two G fans that told him what the film should contain. We can't expect atomic testing to be the cause, we don't do those mega nuke tests at sea anymore. Though perhaps underground testing but even that has been greatly curtailed.
The Japanese themselves many times have "rebooted" Godzilla. It's nothing new for him.

The Oppenheimer voice over in the teaser might suggest a nuclear origin story?

One of the viral vids has a radioactive tick in the audio too and the director said there is some atomic connection.
But the sink holes is anyone's guess right now. So I think there is some additional mechanism involved in the origin.

Just saw this posted on HobbyTalk.

I'm wondering how accurate it is. It seems to match what we can see of him thru the cloud of dust. The base of the tail at his hips looks overly thick as well as the front of the neck under his chin.

I don't like his "thickness". Beyond that, everything looks great. I'm sure that weight is how they'll explain his nigh impenetrable skin. The building still standing with a huge hole in it:eek Physics?:confused
