diamond blade works for me. just dont use the standard cutting discs for dremel, they will not give you a good result ever.

alternatively the jewelers saw looks like a good thing.
 
It's fine you Rondo'd the gap together, it just needs EXTRA reinforcement from the fiberglass is all. Check out the Dremel "Reinforced" cutting discs. They are a little larger diameter but are also a little thinner than the standard discs.

To reply to EyeofSauron, the only problem with the Jeweler's saw, which is essentially the same as a "Coping saw" is that the "C" shape will get in the way eventually and you won't be able to complete the cut. You will only be able to cut so deep with one. Picture trying to cut out a Green Ranger helmet panel with that....not gonna work.
