GMH Boba Fett helmet--ESB style

Done! :)
Seven plans to install the visor and the RF topper himself at a later date, so I've
taken this one as far as I can. I completed the pastel weathering, added some
rusty stains to the RF stalk, finished the markings on the RF ear and installed the
ears, the Borden, and the MQ-1 insert.

Here is a selection of final pics.

A couple of rear angles.

Finally, some closer shots to show some more detail.

I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of the helmet, Patrick! Thanks for trusting
me with your GMH. :)

Incredible finished item, just a shame to see it all come to an end.
The level of the detail is well, unbelievable, all those tiny little scratches, dots and the small weathered patches, its amazing. love to see one close up, in my own hands.

Watched this thread since the start.

Wow.

Nailed it.

I have several friends with some great paintups... You were very humble in your opening posts to be this talented.

Please do one for me soon! LOL!

Thanks guys! It's genuinely appreciated.

One last pic just for fun. This is Seven's helmet posing with its daddy. Anyone else see the family resemblance? ;)

Question,

How do you feel about painting a cold cast version with the metal color left unpainted?

Not "accurate" but would sure look cool!

Thanks, guys!
Art, I figured you'd enjoy that shot. :)

Well, I know that there are some painters who have done helmets that way. That would
required pre-masking ALL of the silver on the entire helmet before beginning any of the
paint work. That would be a mix of the layered and topical methods, and I've always felt
that I get much better control of the complex little shapes by going topical. If any of the
shapes were off once the masking was removed, it would require touching up with some
silver, and it wouldn't match the appearance of the cold cast.

I have painted cold cast kits before, and the only cold cast portions that I have left exposed
have been the bare metal looking parts of the RF ear. Everything else has been primered and
painted in the topical method that I usually use.
