Gluing Flex Foam-It! To Itself?

I'm planning on casting two pieces of a costume out of Flex Foam-It! and then attaching them together. Does anyone have any experience with permanently bonding this material to itself?

I'm casting them separately to make painting easier.

I've not tried that, but my hypothesis is that the flex foam-it will expand outwards, and get on the paint of the objects being joined together.

I believe it would also be rather difficult to effectively mix such a small batch.

Have you considered Barge glue? It's a contact cement that is used to attach leather soles to shoes. I've heard puppet builders and costumers swear by it. Just make sure to buy a can of the old formula. The stuff in the yellow and red can. I've heard the newer stuff is reformulated and not very good.

You might also want to post this over in the costuming section.

Good luck with the build.

Ted.
