An older, fairly obscure, mildly unimportant prop - The Sword of Tigris from Factory X.

Remember that one...?

On the new Blu-Ray disc, there is a 12-minute bit from the armorer, and he holds the hero prop for some close-in camera shots.

The pommel is actually a glass tiger's eye; not the solid brass of the replica.

Thought I'd share for those accurizers who care about this film, and old, obsucre props.

Is this material new to Blu-Ray or was it on the original DVD?

That, I'm not sure. But I think it is new.

I reviewed the list of features on my old two-disc standard def DVD, and didn't see the documentary this bit is from.

Though my standard def copy is the first (or maybe second) standard def release. There was yet another standard def release that came after the one I have, so I'm not sure if the Blu-Ray features echo the features on the last, latest of the of the standard def DVDs.

Make sense...?

I was lucky enough to play one of the archers during the film and got to know simon atherton. It gave me the opportunity to buy one of the last two surviving praetorian swords. I can supply photos if anyones interested.
