Today's been all about 'Gladiator, currently casting the last couple of shoulders...but as well as receiving my production used RC lifecast I also received this amazing General sword from Darthwhitey, made by stephen210:
The phone pics aren't the best, but it's a thing of beauty, I love it.:love
Oh, I also have my first general sword up for sale if anyone's interested, going cheap....:angel

Me too Jon - and now seems like a good a time as any!
My plan is to display the armour on a reworked Maximus bust, using my production used RC lifecast as a base. That's hopefully something I'll be able to offer other members the chance to do as well:
I suppose it would make a kick-ass Halloween costume as well, never thought of that!

The timing of all your work Al is great.
I too have wanted to do this costume for years. I almost picked up a completed armor/helmet set here last year, but missed out on the deal. After seeing Apelords work, it got me thinking about making my own. I'm just moving real slow. Seems like other commitments and projects keep getting in the way.
If I can't get my butt in gear here real soon, I may be comming to you for your pieces. Watching all your threads with great interest. :thumbsup

Apelord's pieces were amazing, top class and very much an inspiration - but of course there is a slightly different slant with my project as I want to bring it home on a limited budget.
It makes sense to me to offer my work to other members as I progress, as that helps fund the next stage of progress...so it's win win really.

Received the should armour today from Al and all I can say is fantastic! Anyone thinking of buying one DO IT, its probably one of the best replicas I own..

Great work so far. Looking forward to seeing the chest armor progress.
On the sword, do you have any idea were the straps came from? The sword I got from Steve did not have those. I could easily replicate the leather work but its the detail bits that I lack.
