That's because, originally, Luke's dad was gonna be a black guy.

It was a top-notch riposte.

...except for the small detail of where it wasn't at all. Mic was wise to avoid reading it. There’s no credible riposte, just a vast collection of weightless words desperately wrestling for meaning.

I asked him for quotes/references that have Lucas undeniably declaring he had all aspects of the prequels story nailed down in the “finest detail” and ready to deliver thirty years ago. He can’t produce any quotes or reference to support his oft repeated argument and instead tells me he “just knows!” and I’m expected to accept that and find the quotes myself if I want.
If that wasn’t enough Solo 4114 then challenges “ANYONE” to find a quote where Lucas says he made things up as he went… and NickyTea does just that.
So I think you might want to reconsider your definition of the phrase "top-notch" Nwerke.

For some reason Solo 4114 believes Lucas has created a major plot hole with the expanded view of the Force given in The Phantom Menace. He obstinately holds on to this false assertion, and that this expanded view not only comes from "leftfield" but also invalidates the OT explanation.

What absolute bunk. We learn precious little more about the Force in the PT, only that there is a name for the part of a being’s biology that communicates with the Force. This explanation invalidates the OT explanation to the tune of zero.
To use a metaphor; if the OT view of the Force is “We listen to the music” then the PT explanation is “We listen with our ears to the music”. It’s so inconsequential as to be an absolute non-issue, and is less Lucas’s “BAD WRITING” and more about the stupefying ignorance/irrationality of those seeking fault.

It’s certainly not throwaway or a case of dropping “little hints here and there” that Lucas paints the Jedi as out of touch with their “faith” in the prequels, almost literally in their ivory towers and not trusting their instincts but relying on machines for confirmation on who is and who isn’t strong with the Force. Solo 4114 – that’s barely even subtext – it’s right there in the open, it’s most certainly not inferred off-screen or in some hokum EU novelisation.

So for a Ben and Yoda who have learned from the errors of their previous ways to reflect on the Force with a more spiritual view than scientific angle in the OT is not, as you would have it, a "plot hole", but what those cunning insiders privy to the arcane secrets of writing refer to as “character development”. Lucas doesn’t get enough credit for this clever form of backward/forward storytelling that more often hits than misses– instead all the dribbling plebs miss the point and start whining that Lucas goofed up and their precious Force isn't mysterious any more.
Well boo-hoo - my condolences to all the morons as they hug their Kenner Yoda and tearfully whisper "say it ain't so" in it's ear.

It would appear to me Solo 4114, that you would actually enjoy less sophisticated storytelling and the fact that you even dabbled in fan fic to remedy what you saw as serious flaws with the prequels signals a great deal about how low you really shoot and how stunted your understanding is on what genuinely constitutes "BAD WRITING".

The more I read of your arguments the more it reads of hubris, and someone who is so emotionally invested they can no longer be objective; Lucas wanted one thing and you wanted another – there’s no plot hole, no rule broken, no bad writing, no off-screen shenanigans, just you, insisting your Star Wars fantasy is better, and no amount of reasoning will ever reconcile such a fanatic with reality.
Seriously, if midi-clorians is your rallying call for flaws with the PT and poor writing then you really haven’t a clue about either.

And please, if you are going to further discuss “BAD WRITING” could you employ an editor to go over your posts, or at least re-read them a few times with a more critical eye. I’m sure you could distill your argument to something less rambling and free form. And no more Pinot Noir meandering analogies, that was verging on Pythonesque.

I think they should replace Hayden with James Earl Jones. And have him Lean back and give a big cackling laugh right before it fades to the credits! That would at least be funny!

Never thought of it that way. The midichlorians explanation always felt contrived/forced to me... like it was an afterthought of some kind...

I still think there's a lot of bad writing in the prequels. Moreso than in the OT.
