And now for something a little different!
We've been doing a wide range of sculptures over the years... everything from scaled busts and full size figures to giant foam theme props.
Several months back, the Ottawa Senators NHL team found our site and inquired about a giant hockey goalie mask to be used as a photo op in their arena. We loved the idea and here's the result.
I'd like to thank artist Mike Fontana, who handled the bulk of the fabrication. He's someone I've known for a while now and we were both hoping a project would come along where we could work together. His great work on this one makes me hope it's the first of many! (and I'm certain it is!)
The bulk of it is hardcoated styrofoam (and a lot of sanding!). The graphics were designed for the project by Robb D. (Propazoid here on the board) and a vinyl wrap gives it all a very polished look.
If you're ever in Ottawa to catch a Senators game, check out the arena's team store (known as the Sens Store) where the helmet now resides, greeting thousands of fans every game night!
