A few months back, a company from New Zealand called Cobra Labs approached us about promoting their workout fuel, "The Curse". The logo is a skull and they wanted us to create "a throne with a big skull and maybe some columns" with a vibe of Indiana Jones, Lara Croft and the Phantom for their expo booth at Mr. Olympia 2012.
Rich Riley and I knew immediately this was gonna be fun
Rich and I dialed in the concept and worked with them to find a design that worked within their space, met all the show's codes and fire requirements and even had storage under the stairs and in the columns. We spent a lot of time working out how it would break down and assemble, keeping things as simple as possible for an easy set up and tear down.
We also made sure the logo and branding was front and center, able to be seen from the aisles and hopefully, to be photographed by the thousands of attendees at the expo.
I spoke with the clients after the show and they said the booth was a standout! Hundreds of people came through and sat on the Curse throne and had a picture taken and even more took photos of their booth as they walked by (he described a lot of folks stopping in their tracks when they saw it!).
We're always thrilled with a happy client and I know Rich worked his butt off doing the fabrication with us on this... still though, it WAS fun!
If you've been following our facebook page, you've had a sneak peek at this (if not, shame on you! Go like it now!
