'Ghostbusters' Costume FINISHED!!

The dying method with the purple isn't what I would call accurate (the HD GB is relatively the same as the regular DVD releases as far as being able to pick out what should be the correct colour of suit, especially since it varies throughout the film) it's an old method and I've never seen a suit dyed that way that looks right. The best suits are nomex desert tan dyed with some grey. The nomex suits are more accurate in style than the cheaper cotton/poly suits. The nomex won't take or hold the dye well, but it gives the most authentic look.

:lol yea . . right!! There's a huge difference!! The color alone kicked my teeth out. I was very surprised about how badly the suits were dyed. They're kinda splochy. What did suck though, is the small belt circuit STILL can't be made out completely. That piece is really starting to drive me nuts!

Well, this past weekend, we had one on hand to argue over, and you'll never catchmost using a nomex, as they look like crap. The one we worked with wouldn't take dye at all, let alone the fact that the color was WAY too orange/yellow.

I'm gonna stick with the purple method, as it simply works. For me, the bottom line is getting the look right. What's even funnier, is that purple's in the dark grey GB2 suit too.

But who knows, I'm probably wrong, and will figure something new out to do next week when I start the new stuff.

Thank you for all the details on this suit! I'm thinking of putting one together without the proton pack for comfy con wear. Already have two boxes of grey Rit from another project!:)

I have the HDTV transfer as well, the colour is largely the same, depends on which DVD set you're looking at.

Like I said, nomex doesn't take or hold the dye well, but check out PeteVenkmanJedi's nomex suit, it's the most accurate I have seen. I'd personally rather have a nomex that's more accurate in style than one of the cheap $40 cotton/poly.

use Stephan's plans his are the best and most accurate, the GB community primarily uses his over anyone else's. you can find then on GBfans.com in the equipment section.

I just finished up my gun body, I'll be happy to shoot some measurments to you. The problem I had with stefans plans was that I couldn't print them to full size cuz my printer's stupid
