Ghostbuster needs equipment!

I saw that pack over on the GBF! Beautiful work! Geektress, perhaps we could pool resources and do a work day. I am thinking I will need a pack for Halloween next year (I plan on doing up a full fledged haunted trail around Casa De my place and for little kids having a GB near by might help them not be so scared)

I am guessing we could knock out a few bases out of a piece of plywood and a few sheets of pink/blue form.

I love that you're trying to help me build something for pretty cheap, but really .... I have never built anything before, and I don't want to start with a proton pack. My fear is that I'll get frustrated with it and I'll never ever want to build something again. I'd rather pay someone to make it for me for now, and perhaps down the road, when I have more experience and tools, I'll build one myself.

Right now, I have nothing but a sewing machine and a hot glue gun. I may not know a lot about construction, but I know that I can't sew wood.

No but you can glue it to the wood....I made one for my wife out of wood and foam and stuff I had around the house. Its far from screen accurate, but not one person was able to tell this Halloween. I have never built anything like this before. You never know if you can do it till you try. And then when people ask where you got it, You can tell them You made it, and point out the Milk caps, and the rubber stoppers, and the cheep stuff on there you got from the dollar store. It floors them every time... I think the wood may be a problem for you to cut, but ask a neighbor, or a friend, or to help cut it, more than likely you will find someone that is more than willing to help you.

Ill get some video of the lights tomorrow and post up for ya

I do plan on building a screen accurate one down the road. With the right lights and sound. And if you need any help with yours or have any questions about some of the stuff used to make them, feel free to ask me or any of use that have already made them.

i highly suggest you follow this build,

Vee's Cardboard Build - Community - Ghostbusters Fans Forum

as usual, i say "GO WITH NORM'S PLANS" and then tell one countless reasons why a "budget" or "dollar store" pack isnt the way to go.

this link above, is a build thread using NORMS plans, and cardboard as the medium the majority of HER pack is being built. she's 18, using what little tools she has access to(NONE), and making it in her dorm room. its a shining example as to what can be done with norm's plans, with a budget, and a little prop making experience can do. another thing is you dont want to rush this through, because a proton pack can easily look like a rush job, even if you spend the stupid high amount of money on the kits and plow through it fast.

she also, does some fantastic work with cardboard for other projects too.
