General Doctor Whoniverse Discussion

I'm gonna go ahead & share my Susan idea here since she's been brought up. Bear with me.

I've always thought that the Last Doctor story should end with a trip back to the beginning to start his life as we know it. When he first came to Earth in '63, he had no feelings about the place one way or the other. He stayed because of Susan's love of the place. One thing we know she loved was music, especially 'John Smith & the Commonmen'. I've always thought that it'd be neat, in a farewell tour like Ten sort of way, to have the Last Doctor go back to record the song we heard Susan listening to in An Unearthly Child. That would set off the events that lead to Ian & Barbara to the TARDIS, & ensure the Doctor's future.

Let the hatred begin:confused.

Given the "last of the Time-Lords" schtick I'm inclined to assume that (until we're told otherwise) Susan is dead. What little the Doctor has spoken of his family in the revival hints towards her being dead, or at least so far as he knows.

However it's been established in canon that not all Gallifreyans are Time Lords and Susan was never called one.

I like to believe that they'll stay true to the Doctor's speech "One day I'll be back" and return to find an old Susan and her grandchildren. Likely will never happen though.

Did that:
VIII. Doctor Who: An Earthly Child - Doctor Who - Bonus Releases - Big Finish

Did it amazingly well too, for that matter. That's one of my favorite BF stories to date.

The mysterious woman compelling Wilf Mott on who turned out to be a Timelord may or may not have been Susan...or the Doctor's mother (who may or may not have been half human) or both...or something befuddlingly else like a second cousin's sister's roommate's niece...

BTW, The Royal Mail UK 50th Anny stamps are now available for presale here.

I figured it might have been but I recall RTD saying "of course it's his mother" which I found dumb. :lol

And his Mother is NOT HALF HUMAN... Seriously, rage will form... ;)

I missed where it was established that not all Gallifreyans are Timelords. Are you referring to LOTTL and TSOD? I haven't watched that one in a while, but I don't remember it establishing anything like that.

I always assumed it was that the people who inhabit Gallifrey are Timelords.

The people who inhabit earth are Humans.

So as slang, a person from Gallifrey is called a Gallifreyan, especilly to other alien races refrring to them.

A slang for people from Terra are Terran's, especially to other alien races who just finished talking about Gallifreyans and have moved on to the next topic!

See.......see........:lol

Only the people living "Inside the bubble" are Timelords as Leela discovered. :)

The Invasion of Time - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Leela has meanwhile kept her faith in the Doctor and reasons that if he wishes her to leave the Capitol it is with good reason, so she departs for the wastelands. She is accompanied by Rodan, a Time Lady who previously maintained the transduction barrier. They are welcomed warily by a tribe of outsiders who have rejected Time Lord society and live in the wastelands. Their leader, Nesbin, explains some of the background to his tribe.

But is there anything that says that means anything more than people living on this side of the street are New Yorkers and on the other side of the street they're New Jersians (or whatever they're called there :) )? Both are still Americans...

Because you don't live in the bubble and have the title 'Timelord', does it mean you do not have the abilities?

As for being the last one, the doctor though he was the last one, but the face of Bo knew of another. Who's to say there aren't more that neither of them knew of?

I still wonder about Romana and The Rani. Romana might still be behind the mirror and if The Master was still alive The Rani probably is to.

Just like both inside & out are Galifreyans but only ones inside are Time Lords. Time Lord society exposes their youth to the vortex. Outside the bubble they don't so one would expect differences. :)

I'm just saying it's the type of technicality that they would exploit.
