Gears Of War Gnasher Shotgun

So been a long time lurker on here and finaly found somthing i cared enough about to add a thread

So long story short'ish ive been a Gears of War fan since the concept was conceved by Epic games
Its the sole reason i have an xbox

Friend of mine was posting on facebook a while back asking for printers that were either not being used or broken and after a while hes managed to build his own 3d printer he's printed upgrade parts for it and its awesome

So decided to ask if he could do me a Gnasher Shotgun

So for the last 3 weeks or so ive been receving images from Pete to the status of the prints and altho at this time i dont have it because there still a few more bits to print i thought there was enough to start my Build thread

So will leave you with some images and next week when ive picked it up i will update with more images before clean up and asembly starts

Found one of the original concept renders for the Gansher & tbh its not game accurate because its concept and bits were changed but i like it so i will be trying to stick to this as much as possible

Cannot wait to see this come to fruition! I am a massive gears fan and there gnasher has been on my list of props of love to own! Great thread!

Massive Gears fan myself and not ashamed to say a tear has been shed once or twice over the last 10yrs lol

Personally if I had my way I'd be doing a boomshot but this was a big enough test for my friends printer and I'm so impressed with it I'm going to build my own

Not 100% sure on the paint scheme yet in the game (gow4) I'm using the ember skins but not possible to do with this so it's either going to be worn with a red cog logo on or it's going to go worn with gears 3 crimson omen design on it

Oh yeah, I've been playing from day one! Funny you mention shedding tears, my wife is my gaming partner, we were literally just talking about those moments, Dom's wife, Dom??? We're about halfway through Gears 4.

So are you thinking a boomshot is in your future, if so you need to share!

Definitely love the idea of the worn look with the red cog logo!

I have to ask, any chance you'd do a run of these sometime?

Yeah deffo the Dom & Maria moment with him having to put her down, had the tin set that comes with Doms photo so was always a heart tugging moment

Well plan on building a printer myself prusa i3 rework so it's going to take me some time to do and tbh this Gnasher will prob take some time to build
I don't plan on doing any more runs coz my mate will prob help me set up the one I'm on about building as I'm a total novice with 3D print.

Boomshot is my favourite gears weapon other than the Mortar but I'm a full size replica person so it would take way too long and be way too big to keep at home

This Gnasher has had to be scaled to 95% to be able to be printed on my friends printer but I think that's near a dam full size so I'm happy

So bit of an update, Picked all the bits up Fri night and managed to make a start on it while the wife was at work and kids in bed untill i ran out of superglue
Decided it was a little light for my liking so added in some metal rods to add weight, 4 in going to have anothe 4 to add the weight to where you hand would support the body while holding it

I'm trying to find someone with a 3D printer nice enough to print one out! I did find some businesses that will do it but they want quite a bit...

Don't know much about printing, did your friend use abs or pla? I'm trying to figure out what will be my best option.

Try around for quotes this was done in pla, My friends printer is home made and it not the most refined ive seen but it works and i could guess the prints would be better in a proper printer that you could purchase but i didnt see the fun in that, my fun is going to be doing alot of cleaning up, alot of filling & alot of tinkering about trying to get it to the standard i want and im a bit of a perfectionist.

Few more update pictures now its starting to look like the Gnasher we know and love (well when it does its job and not shooting blanks online)
Active reload handle isnt built yet due to me crushing one of the bits in my grip while sanding lol
