Galactus based on Marvel Classic Figurine Collection

Below is the Marvel Classic Figurine Galactus that I am using as my model.
I tried the batters helmet plan above but with aluminum for the build. it would have weighed 20lbs if I finished it so I scrapped that plan. looked at fibre glass but turns out I don't have any skill with it. using a 3d printer and cnc to make the helmet of out high density foam. only going to weigh 2 lbs now so much better for the neck.
pictures don't really match for color but the leather I am using is a match for the figurine(I think the camera enhances it)
I have a local seamstress help with the body stuff. I am using a one piece blue suit underneath and Warbla for the over the shoulder/ discs on chest and octagons on belt.
front piece of the skirt part below. foam to go on the back to keep the outfit looking more like warriors clothes/armour than a big gay Al outfit at the coliseum.
looking to be holding a 1 inch silver surfer figure in my right hand, probably leaning forward as Galactus releases him to find another planet. Local artist friend of mine Kyla Richards who also has a booth at the Calgary Expo is making that for me. so I also get a wonderful one of figure for my collection. Going to attempt a paper mache planet too. my idea is that when I turn my head to the side looks like I am inhaling it. picture yourself holding a ball about 16 inches from your face and open your mouth to inhale it. hopefully I can get the planet to look right as far as shape but I will be getting help for the colouring as I am an artistic moron when it comes to paint.

Got the modelling done for the helmet. Looks like it will be great. Cutting it out and hollow ing inside to fit my head will start soon.
Made the inhaled planet paper mache model from a Ballon and an old school bell. Not sure it looks right but I am going to attempt a paint job on it this week. I'll post a picture regardless of what it looks like. We can all have a laugh then.

attachments didn't work before. The colour of the figure is enhanced because of the camera but the leather is actually a perfect match for the figure.

so we still need to put the tops on the boots and stick the leather to the boots themselves. I have to slid the boots on because zips are a pain. luckily when I have the blue suit on my feet glide in. still have to put the tops on them too
The gloves were a little too tight on the fingers so we're opening them out a little.
Using warbla for the over the shoulder part and the shapes on the belt line. a first for me but it is very easy to use and re-use if you make a mistake. I got mine from a store in Calgary that I found online. cost about $43 CAD for a piece 19" x 30". going to cover the warbla in the same bluey gray colour leather and Velcro the beltline pieces on. with hindsight putting the foam on the inside of the outfit should have been done at the end. a real pain trying to stitch through it. hence the Velcro.
Looking like I will be pretty tall, somewhere between 8 1/2 ft to 9ft .
The 7 inch platform boots are surprising easy to walk in and very comfortable.

Picked up the helmet and attached the antennae to the main body with contractor grade adhesive. main body is same foam as you get packed around new electronics, antennae are a higher density foam. all coated with a sealer and then an undercoat primer.
I made a complete mess of the adhesive part and now have lots of over spill to clean off. It looks like I will need to put some filler into the air holes that are in the adhesive. not sure I would use the same one in the future or maybe I need to change my technique and be more careful. more clean up at the time of application would have saved me loads of time.
The boots aren't finished, they still need the rings around the tops and the leather attached to the existing boot.
I am tweaking the whole costume.to make it easy to put on. Currently there is a zip that runs from the top line of the skirt part, up the side and along the underside of the arm.
When putting it all on I have to put on the blue morph suit, then the boots, which I just slide on now that the zips are covered. Then I slide the main tunic on. zipping up requires another person as does the final pull off when taking it all off.

This is the Silver Surfer figure I will hold in my right hand once I am fully dressed. I am going use Velcro to hold it in place in my hand. The figure was made by Kyla Richards. she is on Facebook and also attends the cons and expos with her work. if you like something that she has at a show, make sure to just buy it and not wait. she sells out fast.

So after using a Dremel and a scalpel I took off all the excess adhesive and can now see the pockets that need filling with some kind of easy to sand filler. I wonder if it would have been better to put a smaller bead of adhesive between the two surfaces and then use more filler to create the crisper edges..
