Futuristic Military-esque weapons (a la Pulse Rifle)

To the untrained eye, the Pulse Rifle has the look of a Futuristic Military weapon that seems fully possible. Like I said, to those that DON'T know about weapons, the Pulse Rifle seems very realistic. It has the look of something the Military would use in a few hundred years.

So, along those same lines of suspension of disbelief, what weapons (fake is fine, real is fine, paintball is fine lol) what weapons are there that have the look of a Military weapon that is futuristic yet has the LOOK of being possible. And again, i am talking about to an audience. I had NO idea that the Pulse Rifle was made from a M1A1 and Spas 12 until I researched it online.

Any links, photos, concept art - any suggestions on what other weaponry has the Military look, is slightly futuristic, and seems possible (to the standard audience)???? Like I said, it can be a painball gun, a real gun, a toy gun, something created for a movie, concept art - whatever. :thumbsup

Jayne's "Vera" from the Firefly episode "Our Mrs. Reynolds" started out as a Russian Saiga shotgun.

In the real weapons category, the FN P-90 looks fairly futuristic.

I believe the OP was asking what FAKE SciFi weapons looked like they COULD be real. Not what real weapons looked SciFi.

On that point I would say the SST Morta would be one and the BSG side arm from the first season.
