Futurama Season 7 (Final Season)

I agree. I only like the design of the Planet express ship in the first one. It's like since it's the last season they're not even going to try. Actually i don't think they've been trying since the direct to video movies. Everyone writing for them on fox had probably found other jobs so they got whoever would work for them.

I though both episodes were....Meh. OK, nothing great. A few giggles here and there but nothing more. Nothing close to the original episodes.

Yeah. Definitely meh episodes. I'm sure there will be one or two really good ones, but they have really lost the spark that made the early seasons magnificent.

I have no doubt if the episodes had been better in the past seasons it wouldn't be canceled. Then again CC canceled Drawn Together without warning even with high ratings and gave the budget they saved to the clowns making South Park which hasn't been all that funny in a decade.

Oh ******** them.

I was okay with the episode tonight up until the last couple minutes. Then when Nibbler told Fry about the dream. Wow. Watching "Jurassic Bark" in the last few minutes was hard, but this .. damn them.

I totally forgot it was on. This season has been so unmemorable. They've restarted the newer seasons on weeknights so i'm sure i'll be catching up sooner or later.

I didn't read this thread today until I watched the latest episode. So I had no clue what was in store.

If you have been watching some of the Futurama episodes this season and if you still have to watch the latest episode (Ep 23: Game of Tones), please don't read anything further in the spoiler. At least just watch the new episode and then read it.

The whole mystery driving the episode and the reveal wasn't something great or even satisfactory. But it's still good to see the show find ways to revisit Fry's past, always a nice change to see those characters.

The ending was simple yet so emotional and I got teary eyed. In fact it took me back to my own memories from years ago when I wished my mother was alive. She passed away at the age of 43 in 2000 when I was just starting college and I was about 19 years old.

So I wasn't sure if the episode ending affected me only due to my own past or that the episode was indeed so emotionally touching. Reading Kerr Avon's and many other people's reactions online, looks like most were moved by the ending, even though the setup of the whole episode isn't something memorable. Still, it had some funny moments and references.

The ending song is Manchild by Eels.

This is a good review of the episode especially the last paragraph about the ending.

Yeah, that dream at the end really got me, too. In fact, just thinking about it now is about to start me off again.

If you'll excuse me, I have something in my eye...

I thought Game of Tones was one of the better episodes this season. The overall story wasn't great, but incorporating Fry "flashbacks" are always a plus for me. And I don't know what they're planning for the finale, but I felt that the ending for this episode would have worked great as the finale, kind of like the simple, emotional end in the last episode of Season 4.

People keep pointing out how dysfunctional Fry's family was and how they mistreated him. Even so, a boy loves his mom and his mom loves him and would dearly miss him. I wonder how truly dysfunctional people's lives have to have been to not understand that.

It was a good series finale for Futurama. Had little bit of everything; laughs, sci-fi and heart. It is still open ended, yet had some sense of closure.

Farewell Futurama and thanks for all the years of fun, tears and wonders :).

Forgot it was on but i bet it's open ended in case comedy central decides to give money to shows other than southpark.

I like how they tied in the ending by showing the very first one immediately afterwards. After Fry's comment it made a nice thematic loop

The finale was okay. Nothing spectacular (much like the rest of the "new" series) but the piece with Chopin was the highlight. That's the level quality I expect without being too sentimental and still science fiction-y.

Apparently they're not giving up, the series is being shopped around to other networks as a series or a bunch of movies like last time. I bet the cash Comedy Central is saving is going to fund some crappy stoner comedy.
