Full Scale Iron Monger Finished (pg 3)

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger (Chest nearly done!) (WIP)

Well sadly last night was a bit of a waist. Scalled wrong on the Iron Monger helm and ended up with this. I think what? 30% bigger? I'm hoping that will look right from there. 1607035_10153847973790105_507309272_n.jpg

Redid the head last night. Still needs a lot of work but is definatly looking better as a much larger piece. Now to build a neck cavaty and neck and it should be alright. 1656304_10153852713005105_1090595658_n.jpg1898178_10153852309465105_542212875_n.jpg1900131_10153852712865105_1874049471_n.jpg

Very much so! Luckily the feet have been made super stable with the wide plywood feet base and pvc skeleton so fingers crossed we wont have this issue.

Very cool guy your project. Congratulations you will present it in any event.

This year will have the first Comic-Con in Brazil to thinking about making a Space Marine

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger (head games) (WIP)

DO IT! If I've learned one thing from this forum is that if you think about it, just go ahead and jump in. Even if you don't know how. You can learn and plan all you want by watching youtube videos and reading threads (which please don't get me wrong, they are an amazing wealth of knowledge) But the knowledge means nothing if you have no way to practically apply it.

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger (head games) (WIP)

That is amazing. The fact that you are making it on stilts to make it huge is dedication.

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger (head games) (WIP)

Thanks guys. Arms are making progress in terms of general shape. This weekend will be all the little fiddly bits. Here is a mock up of the arm to see what it will look like overall. I'm pretty happy with it. I still the the head a is a tad too long. I'll see if I can't trim that down some. 1656186_10153925466305105_369176780_n.jpg1619386_10153925466330105_2134778212_n.jpg

awesome! Can't wait to see the final output. Great Job!

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger (arms getting done) (WIP)

Arms are getting there. Gonna start on the hands this weekend. Now I'm focusing on gettings the joints covered up and the weapons in place. Once the hands are done itll be clean up time, finishing touches and paint. SO MUCH TO DO! 16 day left!

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger (arms getting done) (WIP)

Some more progress. Ammo drum and mini gun are just about done, still need some details and belt.
Pistons on the arms are finally wrapped up. Still need 4 more pistons, 2 connecting the torso to the arm, and 2 connecting the torso to the shoulder bells.
Will probably be starting on the hands today, we'll see how that goes, hands will be articulated from inside the cockpit area.

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger (arms getting done) (WIP)

Okay, So i've run into a MAJOR issue and would like to call on you guys for some help. I've found that the way the arms are sitting, the pipes leading out have been angled way too far down to be of any good, as this will just freaking stab the person inside. If they are at the proper 90 degrees however, the arms stick way too far out.

My thought and solution would be to heat bend the pvc pipes into almost a v like configuration, but I'm afraid that would effect them being able to raise and lower properly. Any suggestions?

Please see below for a crudely drawn (I am not an artist.) monger help1.jpgmonger help 2.jpg

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger NEED HELP, please see page two.

Can you shave them off inside the torso and add a coupler of some kind to put them at a usuable angle for the wearer? Connecting two pipes together, essentially.

Re: Full Scale Iron Monger NEED HELP, please see page two.

I can try to shave some off but that I think will mess with the overall profile of the suit. The arms will be able to mount on to the support box with a U bracket so the wearing isnt holding them up. Though I will admit finding a U bracket that I can easily take on and off so the arms will come off for transport and assembly has proven a challenge.
