Friends Movie?

I watch this show every single night. I loved it and pretty much grew up on it. I'd love to see a movie.

EDIT: I'm glad I didn't post about how it could do as well as the SATC movies have done, because it says it in the article.

could be nice... but sex and the city was not like friends... We all see what happened to great series of the 80s when they made a film... Best example is ALF, are there any other examples?!? I dont think so, but there could be a reason for it...

I kind of agree with this. I mean it wasn't very much like the actual show but it was a nice continuation of the storyline. I haven't seen the second one yet so I can't comment on that but it looks to be even more removed from the actual show than the first one was. I'm sure it'll be good though.

I really hope this goes ahead. Friends is my all time favorite sitcom. It always has been. I think with a good script and storyline, this could be very nicely done. I always wonder to myself what they're all up to these days. Definitely going to keep my ear to the ground on news regarding this movie.

whoops, edited...

I mean, they wont put the laughs in a movie, do they?!?

Theyve never done that in a theatrical movie...

why? the show ended 6 years ago. Plus it isn't like the show had a thick plot that needs to be revisited.

Do you folks really need to ask WHY?

People .....HOLLYWOOD IS ABOUT MONEY?

Once you get that in your head, all the stupid decisions make sense.

I've never actually seen the show so when I read the title I thought you were talking about a friends of yours movie :lol

Not for nothin', (wow, Brooklyn upbringing shone through on that one :lol) I don't know WHY a format HAS to change just because its a movie. Bring on the laugh track, who cares? Who makes these rules anyway? Why NOT a 2 hour reunion movie that runs just like a glorified show with a bigger budget?

These things are a success for a reason. The format works. Don't believe me? Then how about Law and Order LIVE!

HEAR THAT FOX AS YOU WORK ON THE 24 MOVIE?

Both my wives have the complete series and watched/watch them compulsively, so I've seen them all many times and enjoy them a great deal. But there's no need for a movie. Leave us with the memories.

The only problem with making a sitcom into a movie is losing the audience laughter. It is a very, very important element to the dynamic of a sitcom.

I remember some of the old sitcoms made into TV movies, like the Brady Bunch. They essentially took a comedy and turned it into a drama. Lost the charm.

Are you nuts, The Brady Bunch Movie is incredibly funny. If you know the show, it is awsome.

Best TV to movie transition, next to Star Trek.

I was actually referring to the TV movies made with the original BB cast during the 80's. I completely forgot about the remake of the 90's.

I would have loved to have gone to a Friends taping back in the day. All the behind the scenes stuff made it look so awesome.

I think it's supposed to be called "Friends: Attack of "The Rachel" haircut."
