Free Guy

I’m in.

My buddy that I game with and I just recently went back to playing GTA V because we were bored, and we have regular running commentary about how horrible we are to the NPCs, so this is right up my alley.

We just got back from this one. It's very evident that the folks who made this flick are super into video games, and I appreciate it. There are a lot of subtle and not so subtle Easter eggs that gamers will immediately recognize. I feel pandered to in the best way.

Beyond that, Reynolds is being Reynolds and you're either into that or not. It's silly, but it's also a lot of fun.

I just saw it, absolutely loved it! I was surprised, I was mainly seeing it because I wanted to see a movie and it was playing. Plus, I still like 3D movies and this was the only one playing in my area. I had seen the trailers, but I honestly didn't think much of it, wasn't looking forward to it or anything, and didn't really think it was going to be very good. But I'm glad I was wrong! Really fun, great action and comedy, but also had a sweet side to it. It definitely evokes other movies like The Lego Movie, Tron, Ready Player One, and the Matrix, to name a few that popped into my head. If you play video games,, especially GTA, you'll get more out of it than someone who doesn't play. The cast was great as well (I've yet to see something with Taika Waititi in it where he isn't great).
A side note on the 3D, I'd say it was good, and I'm glad I saw it in 3D, but it lacked some "pop" factor for me.
Anyway, I highly recommend seeing it, especially in the theater, if you can.

We were happy to see in 3D

And I was sooooo happy that it did its own thing, wasnt Ready Player 2, or a Matrix wannbe.

The Chris Evans scene was like INSTANT +3 in an already strong 9 out of 10 fuh-ilm

I haven't even paid any attention to what movies are coming out, but my brother is visiting, so we, with friends, decided to watch a movie and picked this one.
It was a fun movie. Pick things from other movies, but still did a good job at putting it all together.

Even though it was cliche, it was still funny and entertaining. I was not expecting to smile and laugh so much. It felt like the actors really had a great time making it and that often transfers into a better movie with real positive energy.

It was goofy. It was sappy but with some pretty sincere performances and it was a lot of fun to watch. I enjoyed the trailers for this movie and the Mrs. and I finally watched it tonight. I'm glad it didn't end the way I kind of expected it to where Guy ended up getting the girl. That would have been too much. The premise was fresh and it was nice to see something cornball like this and escape for a while. So much of what's out now takes itself too seriously and it was fun to just lay back and enjoy the ride for once. I particularly liked the scenes with Guy and Buddy. These were my favorite parts and as corny as it sounds there are too few movies now that deal well with friendship and it was refreshing to see.
