Forton Mg Bio

I thnk Tom got in there before me.

just for sake of clarity, was permission given to mold it and the casting you got, was it the other guys own sculpt?

Ok just to let everyone know. I Am not recasting this bio. This was a one time mold made just to demonstrate this process. The Bio was given to me by Howard of KB studios. i dont know who the original maker was. I will not be making any more.

So lets not go down the recasting road as that is ot the case here. Ok nuff said??

clay do you understand the meaning of recasting? one time mould or not you have recast it.

does not matter if you did it to sell of not, not asking the permission of the SCULPTOR is classed as recasting, ( this has been discussed with you before, so i am not sure why you seem to not understand )

Now if Howard sculpted the bio and has gave you permission fine all is ok, that's all that would be needed to be said.

i understand the process lends itself well to a bios appeal, but that does not justify it if you haven't got permission and WILL endanger your membership here. and if in fact it IS a king Jamie bio, ( which i actually do not think it is )

it was a broken up bio, I had to do lots of repairs to it. It was in fact one he said he was going to pitch. I have contacted Howard and am awating an reply.

I think he's curious because it would provide proof of your story.  The reason why people have jumped on this thread (like many others of late) is that when artists provide very little to no proof at all of the work previous to the casting it immediately sends up red flags.  We're honestly not on the attack but there will always be a need for people to make sure things are kosher and thats what this is really about.

Im getting the permission slip confirmation from Howard. Cmon guys. You know I dont recast. Was merely showing a freaking process.
I wont offer any more new stuff if this is the road it goes down. Not worth the flak

I waited nearly eight weeks for art to approve my rattler bio even though I had the go ahead from the artist for the base.  I get jumping the gun but the flak should be understandable.  I would have gotten the same if I'd posted mine previous to the permission.  Anyone would have.  It's all part and partial really.  Glad the slip is incoming.  (y)

Another reason I asked if you had pics Clay was because I was interested in seeing some process pics.  Many of the threads you post have great process pics, and was wondering if you had any of the process of not only the original bio repair, but the casting as well.  Not having pics of the process seems a little out of character for you...make sense?  I am by no means making any accusations at this point.  I think the lack of progress pics and more detailed info from the start is leaving us with questions.  Don't get me wrong, the bio in this thread looks simply awesome, and has me considering attempting this for myself once I get my bio sculpt done and molded.  As Tom said, it's good the 'slip' is on the way.

as soon as I have the "slip" i will post pics-- I didnt do a WIP cause it was just a one time thing though--

Ok everyone, here it is. I got ahold of the maker. While he was honored  about the process, I was still informed that he did not want it used . I informed him that I understood and would destroy the mold right away as well as contact Smooth-on and inform them that it could not be used in any way., which they agreed to do.

As I stated, I was merely trying to show a process, but rules are rules, and if I get banned due to this, I completely understand as I dont want in any way  for there to be any hints of favoritism shown at all.

SO that being said, I have contacted Lee and he is discussing it with the other powers to be to decide my fate.

I sincerely apologize to the entire community for my bad decision, I was just excited to show something different.  But I will honor and comply with whatever decision is made. I trust you all know that I would in NO way shape or form intentionally recast for purposes of selling or such-- I am just trying to share the wealth of materials and processes-- I let my excitement get the best of me.

So this possibly could be my last post. If it is, I appreciate you all so very much.  Never stop creating and going beyond
Blessings all
Clay

I think getting banned for such a small mistake is just a little excessive. Not like you made for mass production. But if you do get banned then it's pathetic and just a little petty. People need to stop crying over it and let's just get on with the day shall we?

Tri- laser there is more history here than you are aware of, so please do not get calling anyone or anything pathetic etc when you are not in full grasp of the facts.

Clay said he was going to come and make a apology in the pm he sent me, which I thought was a good idea for clarity to the other members who read this.

So, problem solved? He destroted the mold, and called and talk to everyone involved to make things right, hope the best :)
