Forgotten 80's tunes...

Ah were it not for (the now oft-mentioned) Jack FM... That is how I first learned/heard of this tune. Great song. Not family friendly.

Do you have a Jack affiliate in the Bay Area?

For those not familiar, Jack FM came on the air waves about 3-5 years ago. Though their "calling card" is that they "play what they want" and the "don't take any requests", (and they do not have live DJs), they are predominantly an Eighties revivalist station.

A boat load of songs that otherwise would have fit the categories I laid out for this thread have been revived by Jack FM (in my area).

I'm finding the forgotten part tough to qualify.

But thanks for working with it, as that is really the point. And "forgotten", or "nearly forgotten" is relative to many variables.

What some of us may have "forgotten", others may not have. What is now "dead" in your geographical area may have been resucitated and is not being OVER-played in others. What is "obscure bull****" to some may be old hat to others.

I'm digging the thread though...

Yeah there are some thrown up here that will never be forotten, and some that are seeing a LOT of daylight these days (and some stuff I have never heard of - then or now!), there are some great tunes that totally fit the bill being posted.

The Russ Ballard tune Christian posted is - at least for me - a perfect example. Dug the tune back in the day. And yeah - I think I can safely say I had just about totally forgetten it.

You guys are weak sauce.

Seriously. "Cruel Summer"? "Smuggler's Blues," forgotten?

I had this compilation tape I got with an issue of DEADLINE in '84 or so called "Tape Fear" that was full of the most obscure (in the States, anyhow) but awesome stuff. I literally wore that thing out.

Defstar, MOST of the old school Hip-hop tunes you posted are in the iPod playlist I listen to most frequently. Hardly forgotten by me. :lol

Great tune - Jack FM still dusts this one off on occasion. And his second hit Jeopardy (My love's in...).

Totally. And one of my all-time favorites. I hear it sometimes on the radio, but RARELY. Had it on a complilation CD I made, but somehow lost the CD...

I bought their CD just for this song...
