Re: Ford Tir Motor, (Temple of Doom)

Don't you have a "Betty" and an "X-Wing' and a "Destroyed Enterprise" to build?

Re: Ford Tir Motor, (Temple of Doom)

This is an interesting and cool idea!

Re: Ford Tir Motor, (Temple of Doom)

I agree ,, he is out of his mind.... but very cool, I tried to find a good model of this is plastic and could only come up with small scales one.
Good luck

Yes im out of my mind, thats what allows me to build all this stuff. And dont worry the betty and x wing are still moving forward.

Re: Ford Tir Motor, (Temple of Doom)

in 1984ish I remember seeing a small scale model of this plane at the store, and fancied getting it and painting "LAO CHE" on the door. Never did. So I'll watch this build instead. :lol

I was looking for one too, all i found was a small scale one by Revell.

Re: Ford Tir Motor, (Temple of Doom)

Dang, that looks like one heck of an undertaking! Good Luck!

That's a pretty good idea Al !
I always wanted to build this one and the Nazi's secret plane from Indy.
I will I could find those kind of aluminium foil by here.
The most difficult part will be the 3 engines...

I will follow this build with a great interest !

Started on the main body and tail section. and a little on the wing. Still need to finish the wing and the rounded hump on the back. tail pieces are placed there for pic and are not in the proper location. Also the main wing will be removable for transport and shipping.

Thanks Al

Awesome....I have a diecast replica...It's a nice size. Not SS by any means but still nice.

You got me, this one is not studio scale. my supply of foam is low and i couldn't scale it up to the proper size at this time,. so consider this a small scale test, version 1. the next will be studio scale. my order of aluminum corrugated sheet should be in this week, Fingers crossed. I should have the wing shaped by this weekend for another update. and then ill start on scratch building the engines and props.

Thanks guys for all the kind words.

Al

Got the nose done, and started on the corrugated sheet. Was a little tricky getting the aluminum to stick to the primed parts, but the trick was self etching primer on the back and CA glue, allowed the glue to bite into the primer and hold. after about 6 tests with different adhesives that finally did it. ( thanks Michael. that little brain storming session solved the problem.)
